Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Let's say 1-4 is Flagg/Harper/VJ/Kon, then Utah trades 5 to New Orleans. NOLA takes Ace at 5, then Washington takes either Tre/Malauch/Fears. If Fears is the real target, that would be kind of scary because I'm not sure which way Washington would go at 6.
I think there is a ton of posturing going on. I think they may be cool with Fears or Tre in that scenario (or Kon if Tre goes). I think the scary scenario for me would be moving to 8.

If the Jazz want Tre or Fears, the furthest they’ll trade back is 6, imo.

I highly doubt the Jazz trade back further than a spot or two. Jazz can get Fears or Kon at 6/7. Or, the Jazz surprise and take Ace.

Putting all of the puzzle pieces together here is my best educated guess at the Utah Jazz’s draft board:

Cooper Flagg
Dylan Harper
VJ Edgecombe
Tre Johnson
Kon Knueppel/Ace Bailey
Jeremiah Fears
Khaman Maluach

Not sure who would be the favorite at 5 between Kon/Ace.

BTW, this is how Tony Jones predicted the draft would play out: Dallas takes Flagg, San Antonio takes Harper, and Philly takes VJ.

Charlotte then decides between Tre and Kon, possibly taking Tre.

Jazz would then decide between Ace, Kon and Fears.

My guess is one of Philly/Charlotte move back to 6 and Whizz take Ace.

I think there is a chance his camp isn't completely stupid and knows worst case he goes 6 but is hopeful they move up to take him making him some more money and getting where he wants. Utah is likely a potential issue in that plan but also might play ball with the Whizz

Ace apparently said he “doesn’t have much interest in Utah.”
To this rando? Hmmmmmm.

Ace's big issue is that his agent is a nobody. If a team wants Ace, they will draft Ace and there will not be any repercussions. If Ace was picky about where he wanted to play, he should have went with better representation.

Of course, better representation would have told him to go pound sand with such demands.

I’m a big Jase guy….but it sure does look like this predraft process has gone poorly for him.
I’d take him at 21 or see if you can move up from 43 and take him with a late first. 2nd gen nba guys have a good draft track record and there is a lot to like there. I think there is some upside there.
