2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Scotto says Kings have floated Carter out there for a first round pick. Don't get excited @SoberasHotRod , he plays defense. We don't want him.
I would do it for 21, but it's not super encouraging that they are giving up after half a year. They are the Kings though, so I'm not going to hold it against him too much.

In the inevitable John Collins deal he should be the sweetener. I did here the locked on kings guy say that the Kings may have had issues with his diet and potential attitude. Was kinda weird.

Classic guy that goes to the Heat and is amazing after being traded. They were discussing the Derozan to the Heat potential.

I watched the majority of Devin Carter's minutes this year. Mostly he would get in for 2-5 minutes a game. It's hard to say too much based off of his playing time.

The only thing that is clear for me is that he is a great rebounder for a guard. His shot looked pretty bad, but it looked bad in college and still went in (on high volume), so I kind of believe he will figure out his shot. He currently fouls way too much and will take time to adjust. I think he fits in athletically in the NBA, he just looks kind of spastic when he plays.

He was also coming off of an injury, which should be taken in to consideration.

Clifford is the guy I decided is this years “Heat draft him and becomes incredible” guy.

Something I just thought of:

If you did a Walker deal to LA and got back Reaves, could you then include Reaves in a deal to Philly with Collins for the 3rd pick? Reaves would give the deal more juice compared to Sexton.

Depends on what else you get back from LA. Walker and Collins, essentially, for 3, is pretty steep. You'd obviously need some decent draft compensation from LA's side, but you are prob building that in?

You would get at least two future first and Knecht. Future first wouldn't project to hold much value though

If it were me, I’d look to get their 2026 pick and then convert the 2027 pick into a “best of” pick swap. Probably Kinecht and maybe another unprotected pick in the future. 2031 most likely.

Then I’d look to add 2026 pick swaps to the Lakers pick. See how close you can get up to the top of the draft with both picks next year.

They’d have to tie the deals together. But that shouldn’t be much of a problem. Essentially what teams do all the time. Just move the pieces around until everybody is happy (or at least content) with the results.
