2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Trading Collins, Sexton and Clarkson for Damian Lillard and two pick swaps (30 & 31) is essentially the deal the Jazz should’ve made for Westbrook in 22/23.

Then figure out a quality trade for Lauri. Come back with. . .

Collier - Clayton - Lillard (INJ)
Williams - George - Juzang - Prodica
Bailey - Sensabaugh - Mykhailiuk
Hendricks - ??? - Martin
Kessler - Filipowski - Tshiebwa

I’m pretty confident that team keeps their top 8 pick next year.
Ya if we trade our good players then we can keep our pick. The question was posed "as currently constructed" though and if we keep everyone we currently have and we play them all then bye bye draft pick.

Okay. Let’s say they keep Lauri, but go get Dame.

Collier - Clayton - Lillard (INJ)
Williams - George - Juzang - Procida?
Bailey - Sensabaugh - Mykhailiuk
Markkanen - Hendricks - Martin
Kessler - Filipowski - Tshiebwa

Is that team too good to properly tank?
I think that roster is the sweet spot. Have to pull a few shenanagans here and there to really tank good but its easily doable.
Then in 2027 we could have a pretty decent team ready to go.

Wonder if there is Lauri trade with Atlanta now, I'm not a cap guru but I wonder if

Lauri for 2026 Pelicans, S&T Lavert, Onyeka Okongwu, Bufkin, other picks

I just really want that juicy pick and a healthy hawks with Trae, Jalen Johnson, Lauri, Kristaps with wings in Daniels and Risacher could easily be top 4 in the East next season

I know they love Fears and Queen...but how can you expect to make the playoffs with two rookies playing big minutes? I'd see if they're interested in something Sexton/Collins. Want to fleece them for picks and/or get Herb out of this.
You can't get such a hard on for a prospect that you yolo a pick in a draft like that though. Like does Atlanta do the deal if you put top 4 protections on the pick for a year? Herb or future picks. Like would they do a future first unprotected if we send Collins for Murray (who likely is not the favorite of the FO right now)?

They are wild dumb right now. I bet their phones are ringing off the hooks.

Collins for Murray and an unprotected 2028 first?

We deserve more than that. ATL got one for moving down 10 spots. Trading DJM would open up lots of cap space for them. Dumars loves to build through FA. He's had a great track record of signing guys like Ben Gordon, Charlie Villanueva, and Josh Smith. They punted their cap space by trading for Poole but can get it back with this trade.

I don't think Lauri will be traded....but with the Tatum/Lillard/Hali injuries he SHOULD be traded to the East. This is such a great window for any East team.

I'd bet that they want to keep the runway open for Risacher to start and develop.....but Lauri is a great target for Trae. Think they would be a top 5 offense with Quin, Trae, and shooters.

The team who should be most down bad for Lauri is Raptors. They have no shooting and just drafted a great prospect who can't shoot. Let's say we get the equivalent package as Bane or close to it. Barett almost certainly coming back as the negative KCP salary. We saying yes?

I would have wanted the pick they had last night if we were doing that. If they wanted to unload the clip with 4 firsts I guess we'd kind of have to say yes.

I would say yes. I don't know if Barrett is a good defender or not but he could be a big 2. Would open some interesting lineups for us: Clayton or Collier/Barrett/Ace/Hendricks/Kessler on top of all the 1sts we would get.

This is gonna sound crazy, but I think there's a chance for the defense to take big, nonlinear step forward. If that happens, then the tank doesn't look good.

Would have made yesterday very exciting, but it's not the worst idea to have more future draft capital. I guess the deal would be Barrett+Filler (Boucher human trade exception makes the most sense IMO) + 4 firsts for Lauri? Think I would have to say yes to that.
