2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Nothing? There’s not a bad contract out there that comes with an asset for two guys who can play and are on expiring contracts?
I like a 3 for 1 trade for Damian Lillard. Not sure if Milwaukee would want that, but they should. Dame is probably out for most (if not all) of next year and is still owed about $50 million the following year. Collins and Sexton should have some positive value, and Clarkson would be neutral value.

Get a couple of pick swaps in 30/31 and then focus on developing the young guys.

At the very least, it gives the Bucks some moveable expiring contracts, some guys who are playing well instead of an injured Dame and more flexibility.

Gotta think that Lauri Markkanen is still quietly on the trade block and could become a top target for teams who missed out on other trades leading up to the draft.

What teams make the most sense as trade partners? And which teams actually still have assets the Jazz should want?

Warriors? Spurs? 76ers? Pistons?
I still don't get how Lauri should be on the trading block though.

If we could get another top #5 pick in the next draft, how are we not ready to go full steam this time next year?

Lauri would be vital to our course then.

Jazz should clear out Clarkson Collins Sexton etc to make room for what looks like some promising players
Hopefully AA is less stingy than DA in trading out players.

Sometimes it’s addition by subtraction.

At the very least Sexton and Clarkson should go to open up time for Clayton and Tanje.

Cam Whitmore on the block. Absolutely perfect fit with the roster, we have to get him.

Ace is nowhere close to ready to contribute next year to winning. This guy is a several year project to unlearn all the garbage he likes to do (if Will Hardy cares about doing so...)

Off court issues aside, Ace is top #5 in terms of ready to go talent this draft.

Let me ask you this, why didnt OKC trade away SGA a few years back?

Their multiple draft picks, and Jay Dub and Chet weren’t going to be ready neither, were they?

But they somehow caught up.

Ace was not even good in college last year, lol. He is nowhere close. He doesn't play anything like a winning player yet. He doesn't even know what playing within an offense or defense even looks like right now. Every time the ball is passed to him, the possession ends with a contested jumper. He freelances so much on defense that he looks like 24 year old James Harden. He's very ready to make jumpshots and dunks, but in terms of winning? He's a major project. He's also extremely young at not even 19.

And SGA is just a million times better than Lauri while being way younger.

Notice how AA had drafted a 22 and a 23 year olds this draft?

Clearly a change in direction from DA.

No more long term projects…

We’re ramping up to go full tilt this time next year.. just watch.

I don’t see how he fits the timeline very well for the incoming young guys. I think that by the time they’re effective, his value will be too low and he won’t impact winning as much as he does currently.

IMO - it’s better to move him to a situation that is better for him, and for the team - while they can still extract maximum assets before his value depreciates.

The Hawks have their $25.2M trade exception that expires on July 6th. They also seem to be ready for some push-in after acquiring Porzingis and the East falling apart around them.

Seems like the Nets Cam Johnson would be an easy choice for both teams if they want. But I wonder if there is any Jazz trade for that Pelicans pick centered around Sexton and a young guy they like like Hendricks

I just want to say... The Masai firing was overdue. He likely gets a bag immediately from another team but I am not sure its justified.

Think Masai being let go makes a Lauri->TOR trade more likely. Masai may have been attached to the abomination he created, but fresh eyes are going to want to add some shooting to that roster.
