Jazz trade John collins

OK Can somebody explain this trade in more detail please

Anderson and Love combined make less than $14M. That is just a little bit more than half what Collins makes. So the Jazz have saved almost half of what Collins makes in money + whatever they could get back in potential buyouts.

Additionally, the Jazz should open up a TPE close to $20M. This could be useful if the Jazz wanted to make a run at a RFA like Kuminga in S&T.

OK This is sounding better
So this might mean more trades coming?

Could be….not expecting it though. A TPE lasts a year so it could be used at a later time for a RFA S&T or salary dump.

Realistically, this is just a huge money savings for UTA. The other option would have been waiving/buying out Collins which would have cost more. They also could have kept him, but I don’t think the Jazz wanted him back.

Still would've thought he had more value coming into the off-season, but after the Sexton trade I am fine.

Happy the JCs and Sexton have been set free and we can focus on the youth movement + Lauri

Collins will again be playing some meaningful basketball. Good for him. Plus more minutes for the young guys, I'm all in.
Wont be shocked if we keep K'Love. I think he really likes Utah (he's an outdoorsy guy) and it would be good to have a vet. I dont think he's good enough anymore for a contender to want him.

Well the vets are gone - good

They were worth absolutely NOTHING - bummer

Organic tank incoming. All I really wanted for next season
