If Svi is capable of playing the way he has this season for the rest of the season, we might have to change our perspective on Svi as a long-term piece.

He has two more years (after this season) on his contract at the minimum. This level of player at the minimum is a steal for a team who will want to start competing next season.

I'm going to eventually trust coach Hardy's judgement on these things- as I've said elsewhere he must be seeing stuff in practice re:Svi to start him- same him having faith in Key- he seems to have the right eye that the poor percentages we were seeing in games was eventually going to give way to the superior shooting/talent he was seeing in practice.

Svi can't play much better than he did against the Lakers. When he calms down and only dribbles when he has to, he's easily a useful rotation player in this league.

If he keeps this up, sure. Svi is historically very streaky but he anlso isn’t playing like an idiot as he was in year’s past. He’s toned down the chucking tendencies a lot.

He’s definitely proving me wrong with stellar play, but I’d say the priority is still too high on him. He’s a more valuable asset than Cody (Cody has massive tanking value though). I wouldn’t tie WCJ or Brice zero minutes so he Svi can have 27 though. I don’t think we need 27 minutes a night from him though, and I certainly don’t want to lose the pick over it. But he’s worth giving some minutes to in order to figure out if this is real or not.

I’ve pretty much seen Svi as enemy number 1 since he got here. Last year he only seemed capable of playing hero ball and going off script from the offense. Now he’s actually playing within a system. I saw potential in him last year. Now that he’s playing within the offense it’s easier to see.

I'm also someone who's coming around on Svi. I won't say I'm 100% around, just in the process -- I definitely need to see him be consistent over a season. But his energy on defense is great, he really does seem to be playing within the system and making the right reads, and his shooting seems legit. I also think he brings a toughness that the team needs, both in terms of not backing down but also mental toughness and not getting rattled. Could be an interesting long term piece if he can keep this going.
