Keyonte George’s Star Ascension

I disagree. This season I often see him Keyonte doing something positive on defense and I did not see it last year. He also stopped complaining and pouting after the failed offensive posession: instead he busts his tail to get back on defense.

Key's improvement on the defensive side this year was no less drastic then his offensive growth: he was already pretty good on offense last season but on defense he started from a much lower base.
His defensive rating is still massively bad but it’s also massively improved. Hopefully it continues to get better over the next two years. If so he at least won’t be a massive liability

No shot you’re taking Cason over Keyonte
I probably am. Like 51/49. It’s not Keyonte shade to say that he isn’t and probably won’t be a plus defender and that Wallace’s role on a juggernaut suggests both that he plays a more winning game and that he could have much louder counting stats on a lesser team.

Another thing with Cason, he's the 3rd best player on his team at his role. Caruso/Dort are both better.

Cason has the highest DBPM on the team and the second highest in the league, leads the league in steals as well, and has a better on/off defense than Dort. If he's worse than Caruso and Dort, it's not by much, and it's not saying much as those are two of the top non big defensive players in the game.

I could see some teams in certain situations taking Cason over Keyonte, but if you were starting a team from scratch with that draft class no way in hell would anyone take Cason over Keyonte
Agreed, even as a huge Cason Wallace homer, although I think the list of current teams who would prefer Cason over Keyonte would be quite big, but it's really an apples and oranges comparison.

Keyonte : 2.0 OBPM, -2.0 DBPM 0.1 BPM, 0.4 VORP, 2.7 pts better offense ON/OFF, -11.52 worse defense ON/OFF, -8.82 total ON/OFF
Cason: -2.3 OBPM, 3.8 DBPM, 1.5 BPM, 0..6 VORP, 3.17pts better offense ON/OFF, 4.37 better defense ON/OFF, 7.54 total ON/OFF

Porque no los dos? I would love to have both of them on the team. I think everyone knows this by now, but they are childhood friends, and I'm guessing would love to play together.

No, I'm saying his role isn't solely on him. Most teams will have one, maybe two defensive first defenders. OKC has 3 at the same position, so each has an easier job if they didn't have that depth. And yes, he is the worse of the 3. That's not a diss, it just is. I don't really care about slight differences in DBPM.
