You honestly don’t see the huge holes he could have ran through?

Wow.

I mean, this is your photo.
Alright, so let's break this down.

Do you see where the 1st down markers are, almost 20 yards away from where Hurts is standing?

Do you know what happens if you get tackled prior to those on 4th down?

Do you think the 9ers defenders all right at those markers would just watch him run instead of swarming him well before he gets there?

Here's the TV angle from the instant before he throws it:

I just don't see a universe where the 9ers defenders passively watch him trot all the way there.

(Also, from the other angle you see several more defenders right past where the photo cuts off, It would have been hopeless.)

Run through the holes.

Defense sags off of receivers.

Pass to open man.

It’s not rocket science, Einstein.

Let’s go Steelers!!!!

We’re actually in a win/win situation.

Win and we advance - a win.

Lose and we (probably) fire Tomlin - an even bigger win.

There are two safeties and three DB's in coverage, along with two linebackers sitting at the markers. The linebackers are the ones responsible for stopping Jalen if he takes off, precisely so nobody in coverage has to sag off their receivers.

Doesn't help when your QB has two turnovers returned for touchdowns.

Rodgers giveth and Rodgers taketh away, as is always the case with him, it seems.
Yeah it would appear to be that if you don't follow football and only watch an occasional game here or there, but ...

- we couldn't move the ball forward all night
- middle of the field was wide open and no willingness to throw it there as it had always been during Tomlin's reign
- lack of passing to Metcalf after the drop catch was apparent - why??
- lack of use of Freiermuth ALL SEASON LONG

Even the players are hesitant to speak as to why these issues are there, it's like there's an invisible gag on them or something.

Rodgers can only do so much when there are much bigger underlying issues.

Tomlin just simply needs to go, like yesterday. It's a pity we won that Ravens game and this got dragged on unnecessarily.

Yeah I know. Poor playcalling and poor gameplanning can put a pretty firm lid on your team's offense.

Based on what reporters are saying, it's looking like the Eagles are going to be removing their offensive coordinator from his position for that exact reason, in fact.
