ICE Shooting in Minnesota

Just gonna spit ball for a minute. it seems to me at least a side incentive of sanctuary cities is to either increase or maintain seats in the house of representatives by increasing or maintaining population thereby increasing the amount a state counts toward the electoral college. From 2010-2020, Red states (i'm not including battleground states) saw a 10% increase in population whereas blue states saw a 4% increase in population. Sanctuary cities will obviously be appealing to people in the country who have come illegally so if you removed all illegals from sanctuary cities the gap would be bigger by at least a percentage point or two? So it is a viable strategy in the longterm to add to a states total in the presidential election, and increase numbers in the house of representatives (especially by being strategic with gerrymandering which both republicans and democrats will do)

So with regards to the civil unrest and bad things that have happened between ICE and the people protesting them, it seems to me the best thing would be for state officials and law enforcement to work with ICE to deport illegal immigrants. Work with one another to deescalate etc. but obviously that is not happening in deep blue bastions. So then the question is why. Now i know some people will say Trump is Hitler and ICE is gastapo, but I think some of this is framing. The existing federal law is it is the responsibility of the federal government to deport people who have come illegally. I will also say there A lot of sad events with deportations happened under Obama as well and there was not the same outrage. Tom Homan was also the border czar under Obama and he was even awarded. Now people might will say the tactics have changed. I have not seen evidence of that but perhaps as local officials are in opposition and not helping and even encouraging citizens to fight or oppose ICE, ICE agents are working under much more difficult circumstances.

So then as i think about this more and more, it seems to come down to should someone who came here illigally be deported? The left seems to have moved the goal posts here. parents are very liberal. My family is very liberal. I asked my cousin about this. She believes anyone who came here for a better life has a right to be here.

Okay, so so essentially she is advocating for no border and no law. If we pursue this path and anyone can come to america our infrastructure will be overrun, our culture will undergo drastic change and we will cease to be America. I guess if one believes this will make america better okay but I can't see how it would make America better. Where do we draw the line? We have a border but if you get passed it you get to stay? I am not really understanding exactly where every coalition on the left is falling on this.

If someone has been here illegally but is simply going to work and being good citizens and not causing any trouble then leave them alone. You might argue that every law needs to be upheld every time but I speed past cops on a regular basis with no consequences. I jaywalk in front of cops and nothing happens. If the person is a positive part of American society then leave them alone. Use common sense.

If people are here because they were granted temporary legal status and are going to court to try to gain permanent status and "do it the right way" then don't show up at the courthouse and snatch them up.

Don't go to car washes and farms and snatch people up.

Don't break into homes without warrants.

Don't harass children and use them as bait to catch the parents.

Don't say inflammatory rhetoric like all immigrants are coming from insane asylums and prisons and are all rapists and murdered and are eating our cats and dogs.

Don't deport people to countries that they have never been to before.

Don't deport people straight to the worst prison in the world in El Salvador.

Don't shoot American citizens who work as nurses taking care of veterans because they are filming with their phones.

Don't hire just anyone who wants the job. Don't hire people who are part of hate groups like the proud boys. Don't hire people who attacked police on January 6th.

Train the agents WAY better to deal with people.

When someone is snatched off the streets, get them in front of a judge. Follow the legal process.

If someone is caught breaking into a house and it turns out they are here illegally, then deport their ***!

Don't spray bear mace in the face of American citizens while they have multiple people sitting on their back and aren't a threat.

Don't detain American citizens.

Don't tell ICE agents that they have immunity.

Don't make things look so obviously partisan by only seeming to focus on blue states. There are way more illegals immigrants in Florida and texas than Minnesota. Maybe put more focus in those states.

Don't tell ICE agents that's it's ok to harass people simply due to skin color and their accents.

Don't tell ICE they have quotas to meet.

Don't arrest old American citizens from their homes and if you do, at least let them put some clothes on first.

To name a few. Most of these should be pretty obvious.

Btw, I do remember Obama being protested by people who care about human rights. There were issues with things he did and he was called out for them by the right AND the left.

The idea of securing the borders and deporting criminals was massively popular leading up to Trump's election. It was a winning issue.

It's when the reality of that was unleashing hoards of thugs into our streets to terrorize "blue" cities that cooperation dried up and support evaporated.

What we're seeing is absolutely shocking and disgusting. That's not hyperbole, this **** is shocking and disgusting to any decent person. The ICE agents are acting like ****ing hooligans.

This latest shooting was a masterclass in incompetence by ICE agents. I would suspect a similar sized group of actual gang members would have displayed more restraint and greater capability in subduing one guy resisting them. The police in any medium-sized U.S. town would have had that guy under control with half the personnel and would have done it without shooting him point blank.

I bet Rubashov took down more dangerous people single-handedly while doing security in a hospital then this gang of 12 or so ICE agents failed to do in the streets of Minneapolis.

ICE is conducting themselves in a shameful way. Shameful! This needs to end.

So any person in the world can come if they are law abiding? Or only the one's who are already here? When the democrats win in '28, very likely it is open borders for at least 4 years probably longer. they will flood the country again. You are not gonna like your policy when the infrastructure is over run. It's common sense haha. I kid i kid

The footage I've seen of todays execution, it looks like one of the Brown Shirts disarms the victim moments before the execution.

The ICE thugs were supposed to be arresting "VIOLENT ILLEGAL ALIENS" not dudes down at home depot. Who needs to be protected from this?

By god its shameful, If my government was snatching kids off the street I'd throw stones at the Parliament. I've removed children from the parents in my job to put into protection, its ****ing awful. What sort of human being thinks that using children as bait is a good idea?

They are deliberately being deployed to blue cities to terrorize the population. Texas has more illegals than any other state why are ICE agents getting around Houston and Dallas snatching people off the street?
