Not sure if this belongs in general discussion or politics but there is a new virus in India apparently that has a mortality rate between 45% and 70%. Covid was like 0.01% iirc and killed millions. If this sucker spreads then basically all the humans die.
Last I read about it, there were only like 5 confirmed cases at least.

Will it be a quick death?

IIRC there was an outbreak of Nipah in the late 90s and 100ish people died. Could be scary if it spreads.

From what I've read, it requires "direct contact with bodily secretions" to spread, whereas COVID spread just through airborne transmission.

Still scary, but I don't think we need to worry about a global-scale outbreak.

Ah, ya that's huge.
