2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

Think I may have figured it out. Harden changes things up and could help them win this year. He’s also an expiring contact, which clears the way for a LeBron MLE this summer. LeReturn.

He is not expiring. He has a player option for 42M next year (only 13M guaranteed tho), which is the same as Garlands cap number for next year. They are currently DEEP in 2nd apron hell (36M over 2nd apron limit) and at best they can clear 29M by cutting Harden (unless he renegotiates).

Being 2nd apron means no MLE (even 1st apron MLE max is 5M).

Harden has a PO. He will opt-in because he’s offended that the Clippers won’t offer an extension.

Harden still get off the money one year earlier
