Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

Maybe this needs its own thread, but what is up with Jon Konchar and his place on the team? I have paid 0 attention to him until now, but he is really interesting. Strong BPM overall but off-the-charts defensive BPM and rebounding rate for a guard. Decent 3-point shooter but has a tiny usage rate. 29 years old, “6-5” 210 wing.

Looks like an ideal rotation player for a team that is heavy on stars and needs contributions on all the non-star stuff.

His pure +\- stuff is really good too. When you have the box score stats that say you’re good and the +\- to back it up chances are you’re actually good. I think he could be a decent 10-15 mpg who eventually gets cut from a playoff rotation due to his flaws.

But he hasn’t played a ton in the last two years so it’s hard to know if he’s slipped.

Man, the players we gave up in exchange for JJJ are literal feces.
Tay Henny with 15 points 10 boards, 2 assists and 3 steals.
Pretty good game.

JJJ back to back 3 assist game with no system knowledge
That is why this "We have to add a playmaker!!!" stuff doesn't matter to me. If the worst case is we are rolling Ace out there as a starting SG, that ain't bad. Jazz non-passers are passing pretty well with the spacing and mismatches we create. If we get an elite playmaker, that's cool too!
