Miles to Nets?

Petro is worthless, but I like Morrow. He's a good shooter. Burks and Morrow would make a good rotation at the 2. If they insist on using some of the Memo TPE, a pick better be coming our way as well. Otherwise, it's just CJ for Morrow.
I like morrow. trading miles for him seems like a steal to me.
I bet that's why NJ wants Petro included. Jazz get to upgrade Miles to Morrow, but the price to them is also taking on Petro.

If NJ want to clear cap space, they could send us the cash to buy out Petro as part of the trade (with a nod and a wink they will re-sign him at some later time). His contract stays on the salary cap of whichever team buys him out, which is why they can't buy him out themselves. This transaction could cost us $0, just add $3.25M to our cap figure and use up some of the $10M Memo Money TPE. We get Morrow, they get Miles' expiring contract and can continue to delude themselves they have a shot at getting D12 and keeping D-Will. Good trade.

I think Miles is a more valuable asset off the bench than some of you, but Anthony Morrow for Miles would be a steal.

A steal?

Morrow's shooting percentages the last 4 years:

2009 47% 46%
2010 46% 45%
2011 45% 42%
2012 43% 38%

Remind you of anyone?

Morrow is just another one of these dumb ****ing dummies that will shoot you out of games if you give him enough touches.

Just like Miles, the longer his leash the worse he performs.

Unlike Miles he makes more money and is not expiring.

I agree with you to some extent. I saw the 3P% stats earlier and didn't like that it was declining each year, but hadn't noticed the same with the overall FG%.

However, Miles' shooting hasn't been a picnic, and even in his best 3P% year, he just barely beat Morrow's worst (this year).
2006 37% 25%
2007 35% 22%
2008 48% 39%
2009 46% 35%
2010 43% 34%
2011 41% 32%
2012 38% 30%

That's why I consider Morrow an upgrade, but I'm not saying he's any sort of superstar.

Morrow is an upgrade over CJ. I'd make this trade all day. Morrow's numbers have declined but they are still better than CJ's, and Morrow's been playing on a much crappier team, even though he does have Deron. Now that Al is starting to pass out of the block, we could use a more reliable shooter to turn those passes into at least somewhat reliable jump shots.

1. Morrow is still a MUCH BETTER shooter than CJ.
2. Makes more money? $300k is virtually nothing.
3. What difference does him not be expiring make? The Jazz won't be players in free agency until at least 2013 (when Morrow expires).

What the ****?
