One word: protection.
More words: I can't imagine NJ would just give away a top ten pick for Miles, even if they get a save on Petro (or Petro and Morrow). They'd at least put a lottery protection on it and Pick Watch 4.0 would be a multi-year affair.
Sigh, I think you're right. I can't imagine them giving away this years pick, unless they know for sure that they're getting Howard, and they're intent on clearing cap space. Im honestly totally fine with a top 3 protection, I just want to get like a 7th-8th pick. Imagine getting all three picks in this draft..........we could get Miller, Lillard, AND Rivers.....
Lillard
Burks/Rivers
Hayward/Miller
Favors/Millsap
Kanter
Im currently wiping the saliva off of my laptop.

LOL. What a mix.
IF (IF) I knew I was getting Lillard and Rivers, I'd take MKG over Miller .. all day. Lots of reasons (he's a lockdown defender, huge rebounder, and great slasher .. and most importantly he is a fantastic locker room guy for a young team).

Someone mentioned they have two (unless I misread), so then they could. Not sure if they really have two. Also, can NJ even trade us their 1st rounder this year? They're not allowed to trade 1st round picks in consecutive years, right? If that's the case then it would probably be a future 1st rounder.

Also I think they ended up picking #27 last year, so they could trade this year's pick. The rule basically says that you have to make a first-round selection every other year, but it doesn't have to be your own pick.
