Following potential 2012 draftees

I'd pick up QMiller, PJones3, and Drummond ... but I'd cringe because I like over-achievers, rather than the opposite. These are the top3 in my, 'most talented but don't bring it/want it' consistently. That makes me vomit to watch .. but sometimes you gotta hope a certain coach/teammates can motivate them.

I know. He's routinely stuck to this (and is probably right), but I maintain that he could be a SF, thus I'm waiting for PKM to let me have it.

I think he's a stretch 4 that can play SF in certain matchups. I'm sure he'll get burn at SF during his career. I wouldn't kid myself, though, that he is an actual SF. He's got fantastic size at the 4, fantastic handles at the 4, very good shot at the 4, very good passer at the 4, can D up at the 4. At the 3, he's got fantatsic size and average, at best, at everything else.

Nice find, T. I haven't seen him play so I just checked out a quick read @ DX. Says he's both 6' 9" AND says he's 6' 7" in shoes. There's a discrepancy. I love his 3pt% but the read said his range was limited. ? Again, discrepancy. This article leaves me with questions, although I'm plenty intrigued so thanks for mentioning him. Wish I could see him play.

DX hasn't updated their profile on him since before this college season. While stats can be deceiving, and I highly doubt he's the second coming of a MJ type offensive player or Jimmer type shooter, his percentages across the board and the obvious efficiency that comes with those are very, very exciting to see. Add in the fact that he didn't even play last year (like Kanter) and it makes it even more impressive. Then, his elite athleticism and aggressive attitude is the biggest cherry on top we could hope for. I know he plays in a crap conference but he was a top 20 prospect coming out of high school (with Irving, Barnes, Sullinger and Co.) and played well in that U-19 tourney against some major big boys. For me, it's a no brainer. He seems to have everything we want and need at the 3 and like I said, doesn't seem to be a volume guy who will needlessly hog the ball.

This conversation makes me think about the Millsap at SF argument. In certain match ups it would make sense to play Millsap at the 3. In other match ups it would be a nightmare for the Jazz. The same can be said of PJ3.

True, and I think Sap is more of a SF than is PJ3.

You have got me intrigued for sure. High risk, high reward is what this feels like to me. Same thing with Kanter but that is looking like a steal right about now.

How many North Texas games have you watched this year?

I could lie and say I've watched three or four but I won't. I've watched none. But I see his stats and his highlights and I'm sold. Laugh at me all you want but most of us can say no better for a ton of these guys. Like I said, his stats are extremely efficient and I have no doubt he's the most athletic guy in this draft. Just filthy. Add in his skills and make-up or at least what we know of it, and he seem like he's exactly what we need. This isn't some out off nowhere guy who has no resume either. Like I said, a top 20 prospect coming out of a loaded HS senior class and he played well at the U-19 tourney.

Link? All I can find is one crappy video and a bunch of Tony Mitchell (Alabama) highlights.

The vote Tony video is the most GD cheesy thing I've ever seen. I hate him now .. for approving that abortion of a message.

Who cares. He's at a small school and probably decided to let some campus hanger-on have some fun getting his name out there. It doesn't change the fact that he's a beast and that, quite frankly, we could use some real nastiness like that.

I hear ya, bro .. get that vote out!!!

Off topic. UK seems like a lock for the Final Four. For my boys, it's not as easy. If we do make it though, our path may include having beaten Majerus, Pitino, Donovan, and if we continue on, Calipari, and then any number of studs in the Finals. That would be pretty cool. Personally, Green feels like the best player/leader in this tourney. He has that collegiate it factor that seems undeniable. If we make it to the Final Four, will we beat you? I'm not sure. But I love having a guy like him in my corner. No matter how much sick talent the Wildcats have.

Love the defense of Mitchell. Unsure about his outside shot since his 3pt% is awesome but no one touts him as an outside threat.
DX projects him now at pick 27 in the first round. Why so low? What are the negatives that have him this low?

Mantooth loves him based on a very slick political campaign, but I need more info before I give him my vote.

/undecided.

I actually DID watch Mitchell a few times this year, somehow (ESPN at weird hours you end up with obscure basketball). I think Mitchell has a lot of nice tools, but lacks the ability to really take over a game that you'd like to see from a top pick. He doesn't do any ONE thing brilliantly and has a tendency to disappear at times from what I've seen.

That being said, he does do a lot of little things nicely and I think could be a Kawhi Leonard type player (maybe more post focused?) with a little bit more upside. I like him, probably not in the top 10-12
