Seven black teens have been arrested on suspicion that they committed a hate crime when they attacked a 15-year-old Hispanic boy while he was walking home from school in Southern California, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The March 14 beating in Palmdale was captured on video and posted on YouTube, but has since been removed from the site. The seven boys, ages 13 to 16, were arrested Wednesday for investigation of assault and committing a hate crime, Lt. Don Ford said.
The attack happened near Cactus Middle School, but Ford didn't know if any of the teens involved were students there.
The video shows as many as 10 boys surrounding the victim and challenging him to a fight. The suspects then began hitting the teen while others watched.
During the beating, the teens made racially derogatory statements that were captured on the video, Ford said.
After the victim fell to the ground, the assailants kicked him multiple times in the head, knocked out several teeth and left shoe impressions on his skin, Ford said.
The victim was able to get to his feet and escape the onslaught, and will need to undergo dental surgery.
The teens who were arrested were identified from the video, which was discovered by a Palmdale sheriff's deputy and has been retained for evidence. Authorities are not releasing the video.
Police are seeking three more suspects.
An arraignment date has not been set yet.

Interesting. An arrest has already been made. Will folks dress up in hoodies or whatever this murdered child was wearing in Congress too?

It's sad how much violence and death is in our society.

However, I'm not sure it's as sad as the reverse racism we see from (all) parties in our country. I'm sure many who feel as if Zimmerman has been unfairly attacked will ask when reading this issue, "Where's Jesse Jackson with this?"

The original AP article that I had said murdered.

So I guess it's okay then. The kid will only need surgery.

But unfortunately, I guess you missed that whole other part about the racism we see from all sides. Yet, for many, it feels like only a few sides are ever truly reported or emphasized. I definitely see how many folks could find this whole thing offensive. From Congress wearing hoodies to NBC cutting and splicing the audio to depict a clearly anti-Zimmerman phone call.
 
This incident appears to being handled in an appropriate manner by the police, so no protest is needed.
 
I thought it was impossible for blacks and hispanics to be racists against each other?

Seriously though, this person survived and there have already been arrests. But sure what anyone would be protesting.

I'm not sure if this will make sense to people like Scat and The Thriller. They can't seem to understand simple huge differences like this. Why would Jesse Jackson need to even say anything here?

If you watched the original video like I did, you'll be glad these punks were arrested, it was just terrible.. but just because it's a case dealing with racism doesn't mean it should receive equal coverage to the Zimmerman case, who hasn't even been arrested despite knowing who he is and what he did. Very different.

First off Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton are dip ****s. 2nd, the uproar over Zimmerman is that there hasn't been any arrest. 3rd, reverse racism is very prevalent in our society. 4th, reverse racism as a term is stupid, it implies that white people are the only racists and that any other race being racist is an anomaly.

That is such a load of crap. Reverse racism is a false idea, racism is racism. There is nothing reverse about it when a black man is the racist. It is still just racism.

Not attacking The Thriller. I have heard that term in the "news" as well and it is a load of crap.

The idea that american caucasians were the first racists is laughable at best.
