Pogo's Defense at the 3 position

LOOKED INCREDIBLE.... i kept a close eye on him defensively at the 3 position, and came away very imnpressed.

i kept on waiting for Leonard to blow by him, but it never happened. He's athletic to stay in front of his guy. Hopefully, his injury isn't serious and Corbin understands that he needs more minutes.

What do you guys think? any future at the 3?

At the risk of being slammed ..

I really like Jeremy and want him on the roster long term .. and I think he can do some good things. However, anytime I hear any suggestions regarding where/how to play him, it always seems gimmicky to me. No particular reason .. just feels that way.

It's difficult not to like Evans, but his skill set seems limited.

My biggest issue is deciding whether he truly lacks a well rounded game, or if he just has not been given the opportunity to blossom. It seems like it would be difficult to really show your wares with the limited and erratic minutes he gets.

His length is nice a times, and he can disrupt and cause havoc, but how is he against a good SF man2man?

I like Jeremy Evans. I think he could develop into a regular rotation guy if given the chance.

As much as people worship having all the fundamentals. There is something to be said for just being longer and more athletic. I think he has enough combined skills with his length and athleticism to be a good player. I mean seriously, he is out jumping other NBA guys. And a dunk is two points just like a jump shot. Not to mention he is a shot blocker and good rebounder. He also has good hands. I noticed he isn't that bad at sliding his feet either.

I think it is a mistake by the Jazz for not exploring the Jeremy Evans experiment more than they have.

I'd love Evans at the 3. He would be better there if he had a better handle on the ball, but I like him there even without it. Agree that his D was more than sufficient.

His Defense looked good. And he gives us help from the weak side like AK used to. But when the other team just dares him to shoot anytime he touches the ball outside of 5 feet is makes any kind of offense hard to run. If he could develop a jump shot then I would be fine with him playing the 3 over Carroll and CJ for sure.

That is why I want us to draft a Power Forward in the upcoming draft with the Golden State (and I hope not our own) pick (if we get it) to be Derrick Favors's back up. The 2012 draft is absolutely loaded with talented big men and if we land one, we could move Millsap to Small Forward permanently. This would also move Evans to back up Small Forward behind Millsap. Depth Chart:

PG: Devin Harris, Jamaal Tinsley
SG: Gordan Hayward, Alec Burks
SF: Paul Millsap, Jeremy Evans
PF: Derrick Favors, GS Pick
C: Al Jefferson, Enes Kanter

I actually really like this. BPA.
Jazz aren't in as great of need at SF as I originally thought - Millsap is looking better there now, and will continue to improve. Not to mention his clutch gene and will. I don't want to trade Millsap - and we don't have to 'cause he can be a good SF.

I loved his block on Blair's dunk attempt. He also blocked a 3pt attempt. The guy makes plays.

I believe Leonard went 2-6 while guarded by evans. Not bad at all.
