Why Enes gets blocked so much

Whats there to read? I suggested that he needs to watch old Malone ( after 1999 ) videos where despite limited juping ability and explosiveness Malone was still good for easy layups and getting to FT line at will just mastering how to use his strong body, pump fakes and proper post play.
Franklin said Kanter should forget Malone stuff and model his game after "slow and strong" Shaq. Sorry that is ridiculous.

It's true that Malone played below the rim better than anyone I have ever seen since but also I doubt Kanter will ever have that killer faceup game or turnaround fade. Even without his explosiveness Karl was quicker than Enes will ever be.

Bump bump move/pass will be his B&B and that is basically what Franklin is describing.

ok big and slow.

You're deriving Shaq from this quote about Kanter:

He's big and slow and should pattern his game similar to Shaq's.

Back on point, I think Kanter could have a similar move to the middle that Shaq had. Bump the defender back onto his heels, jump step into the lane, shoot high right hook/push. This is hard for smaller, less powerful double teaming players to block. Kanter's elbows and overall size would be a deterrent. Do you disagree with this about Kanter?

I also think Kanter can spin baseline and hip push defenders out of his way. Refs allow it and it isolates out the help defense. Do you disagree with this for Kanter?

Here's a video of Malone in 1999. He's way more agile than Kanter projects to ever be. Malone could bump elevate over defenders. Kanter is too slow and lacks the leaping ability or body agility to get this shot off. I think he needs one more step towards the middle or basket before shooting.

And here with the bump then move to the middle. Watch that long stride to move into position while using his back to seal away both the off balance defender and Mike Bibby. Shaq was old, slow, and broken, but still used the tools he had left for a high quality shot--footwork and size.

Listened to Kanter's interview yesterday. He definitely has a good attitude. But if you don't have the tools, hard work will only get you so far. A slow big man who can't jump is like a point guard without quickness or speed. It's the equivalent of Ahearn who can shoot but can't do much else as a point guard. I doubt Ahearn will ever stick in the NBA, but since big men are such a premium, Enes is likely to be a career, third-string backup.

Franklin. Thanks for the Malone vid. It was sure fun to see Karl at work again. Poor Polynice looked helpless... Inside, outside, upside down Malone was working it any way he wanted.
Personally I think Favors has more potential to replicate that style than Kanter.

Kanter could do worse than to try to copy the play of both Shaq and Malone. Let him work on all those moves. Maybe he will never get some, so that means he shouldn't try?

If he had to pick one prototype, he's got a better chance of improving his quickness to become more like Malone, than to grow taller to be more like Shaq, although Franklin seems to have put some thought into this, so maybe he is on to something.

I'd also like to see Kanter start raining 3s like Lambeer, and when he is under the basket, learn when to move into the contact, not always trying to avoid it on the shot, take the hit and finish through it, and maybe do more with just one hand , like others have said.

Enes Kanter and DeAndre Jordan have the exact same no step vert according to DX. 26". 2.5" better than Cousins. Please explain how those guys are held back by an inability to jump.

Jumping speed. Jordan can get up very quickly and Cousins is a giant.
