The wrong approach for me is American fanz think they untouchable or god and so biased about the European coaches, system etc. At least The European coaches, fanz, players watch the NBA or even NCAA and have chance to compare or improve themselves. How bout corbin or the others except Adelman, popovich, van Gundy and Brown? In 2008 olympics the America coach krzyzewski was making comments about papaloukas (big time player in Europe) that "who is this pg? Seems good one." This just summaries up the whole story.

I hope this isn't some sort of preconceived notion slipping through here about Americans in general. Let's be frank here; Tanjevic's comments were hyperbole and gave the appearance of someone who was angry and not thinking straight. Had any American coach said the same thing about American coaches, European coaches, or Oompa-loompas, his/her comments would have seemed the same way, but you rarely see professional coaches making statements like this about other coaches because it's more complex than wins and losses in the NBA (Where is Popovich without Duncan; Jackson without Jordon, Shaq etc.?). You should also think about how many people on this forum criticize Corbin. It has nothing to do with Americans thinking their coaches and players are perfect or "gods" (although Michael Jordon is close). People get in trouble when they make blanket statements, and his comments were not well thought-out.

As I said earlier, I'm not fully defending statements of Tanjevic but comparing Corbin and Tanjevic with each other, at this point, is just an insult, not only to Tanjevic but also to all the good things of this game of Basketball. And I don't care even if Corbin was a coach on the planet Mars.

What do you have against space jam?

You are right and you have summarized what this asinine discussion is really about for you. Turkey is the most awesomest country and USA suxxxors and we are mental midgets. Go kick rocks.

Glad you could take an absurd notion to the next level. You must be so proud.

Pretty easy to ascertain that this discussion slipped into a veiled nationalist discussion for some, quite sometime ago. You should have grasped that but you were too busy being a dumbass.

Glad your excuse is that "Others were doing it!" Let me know how that works out for you.

How do I taste?

Wow, biases, assumptions, prejudices, prepossessions, prejudgements etc etc in this thread. Thank god I know when it is worth to discuss and this is definitely not worth.

I voted yes only because he is a moron on offense. I complained about Sloan on offense because he did too much of the same stuff and didn't branch out. But I actually think Corbin is worse on offense. His offense is just as bad as the Mike Brown teams. Its like a high school offense.
Defensively I think he is better than Sloan. He cares more about defense which we needed but offensively Corbin is retarded and has no idea how to play to the players strengths.

Then shouldn't you have voted "partially"?

OMG, are you serial? That's so funny. Everybody knows who Papasnufalufagus is.

He plays soccer, right?

I don't know if it makes him better, but it certainly makes Tanjevic totally unqualified to comment on his lack of intelligence as a head coach in the NBA since he's never been able to achieve any sort of position at the NBA level.

So the fact that Corbin is american and just in right place and right time when he was handed the coaching position by the Jazz makes him better then Tanjevic who happens to live in Europe, won multiple titltles on multiple levels but never even applied for NBA coach job? So ridiculous it is not even worth arguining anymore. The mere lucky fact that Corbin ended up as coach of the Jazz does not make him good coach. He did not win anything prior to it with any team, no other NBA team was considering him for coaching position. At the end of the day I think he will end up like numeorus losing coaches in NBA - with losing record and out of the league.

Perhaps but what you ignore is that Tanjevic is still not qualified to offer ralistic criticism of Corbin. Regardless of merit Corbin is dealing with NBA talent and the NBA landscape. Tanjavic is not.

Before all my Turkey friends go nuclear, relax. I'd say the same thing if Corbin slammed Tanjevic. Corbin would not know him or the team enough to have any sort of informed decision and he would be better off not speaking.

It's just the fact that his opinion is obviously bias out of the *******. He is still butt-hurt that Kanter went to UK instead of playing in Turkey, he is butt-hurt Turkey is sucking at basketball on the national stage, he is butt-hurt Kanter didn't want to play for his ****ty team.

The Indiana Pacers have fired head coach Jim O’Brien. Assistant coach Frank Vogel is taking over on interim but league sources say that the Pacers organization is pursuing former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Mike Brown to coach Indiana. Brown was an assistant coach in Indiana when Rick Carlisle served as head coach in 2003 to 2005.

Five-year NBA journeyman and current Utah Jazz assistant coach Tyrone Corbin is also being considered for the post vacated by O’Brien.

The Suns' head-coaching search is nearing a conclusion, with indications that it will end with a choice that General Manager Steve Kerr long has had in mind.

Although San Antonio Spurs lead assistant Mike Budenholzer interviewed Tuesday in Phoenix, the finalists are considered to be Porter, Houston Rockets lead assistant Elston Turner and Utah Jazz assistant Tyrone Corbin.

With the Hawks one of six teams looking for a new head coach, and two more openings rumored to be in the works, there's been a whirlwind of speculation about which candidates will end up where. So far, the Hawks have targeted Dwane Casey and Avery Johnson for interviews and are also said to be considering Tyrone Corbin.

You funny as Matt Harpring smartie boy. In 2008 Beijing olympic games Usa was againts Greece in Group B and krzyzewski was interviewing and made his comment i told. It is just a sign American coaches are not interested in European basketball versus European coaches. It is normal you do not know who papaloukas is because you just an average biased basketball fan who thinks basketball is being played just in NBA.
