Heard from friends that its what happens right before girls are ready to "get down to business" So my guess is that its something to do with finances.

The Jazz and Clippers last squared off in preseason action on October 16, 2010. The Jazz won 103-91, with the Clippers turning the ball over 28 times. Ouch.
