Don't you think it would be nice if this weren't the case every election? We need more swing states on both sides. Florida seems to be the sole reason we can't tackle the tough social security problem.

It needs to be looked at. It's sö tiring, and taxing on the people of Ohio, and other key swing states.
I can see the argument for both sides, but I think we should take another look at the popular vote(as well as campaign reform).

The administration is their boss. If they did that then the responsible people should be fired.

I can see where actually believing ideals like this could make some otherwise smart folks believe government can be good.

It's been commonly known for over sixty years that unelected civil "servants" staff the federal bureaucracy, and Presidents since Eisenhower have remarked on their limited influence with the "staff". Presidents come and go, and follow the recommendations of the permanent government. About the only President who might have had actual control over the CIA was George Herbert Walker Bush, who was actually the CIA chief at one time.
