Would anyone in their right mind turn down... Probably at least a triple pay increase to stay in Logan where they can't even sell out their games despite having the best season in literally decades? I know many fans may have their butts chapped over this but very very VERY few people would stay in a dead end job for a sliver of the pay.

I guess some people are pissed that he stated that he was staying. Then again, what else is he supposed to say when he's being asked non-stop about his job? If he supposed to state the truth? "I'm actually entertaining many other offers because as you know, Utah St. is a start up job to where most coaches really want to go?"

You're right they wouldn't turn down that pay, and I don't blame him. USU is not a dead end job though, like anything, it's about fit. Obviously GA wanted a bigger school, and that's ok.

Why the hell would Gary Anderson care about the fan support given to the bball team?

I was exactly referring to the fan support given to the Football team.

They couldn't even sell out some of their games this season. You'd think that fan support would be at an all-time high and the stadium would be overflowing due to such a turnaround. Gary Anderson even mentioned his disappointment after one game with the stadium only showing up with... What... 18k? 20k fans? He mentioned how he had invited a bunch of new recruits and that it makes things hard to recruit when fans don't show up.

Yet... Fans were expecting this guy to stay? How dare some of you criticize the guy. I criticize you. Did you folks do everything possible to support his program and keep him here? Judging by your (lack) of sellouts, I think not. And don't tell me it's because you folks have "sooooooo" many other things to do in Logan to keep you busy on Saturdays.

Thriller, I never criticized Gary Anderson and I have nothing but positive things to say about him. You're the one imagining the criticism. Is everything ok at home?

Eh, it's just part of it. If he says he's thinking about leaving and it falls through then what?

I wasn't mad at Urban for leaving for even one second, and those that were are tarded.

Should be the same with GA.

I dont care if they leave. I would too. Its to better your life. Its just the way they try to convince everyone they arent going anywhere. He knew damn well he was leaving for a long time.

I don't know if I should be happy for Gary or pissed to no end that he blew a bunch of smoke up every ones *** about how much he enjoyed Logan and wanted to be there blah blah... Typical college ********. Grass is always greener on the freakin other side for the coaches. Screw the players and fans that all buy in to your bs...
Guess this is the time for me to become a BSU fan. Since I live here I may as well support them... At least I know Chris doesn't talk out his ***...

That's the case with every coach. You can't blame a guy for leaving to take a job that probably tripled his salary at a school that's going to a BCS game THIS year. Those types of opportunities don't pop up very often. Usually, he'd have to take over a bottom dweller in a BCS conference to "move up" like that.

No doubt...... even at low wage jobs the interviewer/company steers you into committing to be a company man for life. "How long do you plan to be at Walmart?" ......"I can't see myself ever leaving. Great company. Terrific company. You guys just throw me that extra $.25/hr raise "reward" at the end of the year you were talking about earlier if I'm on my best behavior and I just don't see how I could ever leave. I am lifer. " And then you quit two days later. You have toe that line anytime you're working for somebody else....no matter the amount of money at stake. It's just magnified when you're a college football coach with media always at hand.

And thanks to Ohio St & Penn St. they will be the first team to have 5 losses and still be in a BCS bowl game.

It's merely an example of what fan support COULD be like for football should a winning tradition continue to develop. I don't think that the team will fall apart just because Gary is gone, look at what happened to Boise State when their coach left and Peterson took over.

Ugli aren't you living in St. George right now? I'd take Logan any day before St. George. In fact, having lived all over the country, I would take Logan over almost any place. I think Gary truly loved living there and raising his family there, but enough money will change a lot of peoples minds.

I don't really know much about Logan except driving past it on the way to Bear Lake. Just saying you can love a place and still leave.

It's possible Andersen had no intention of leaving but was surprised to get the offer from Wisconsin. Really hard to see how anybody could turn that down in his situation.
