Jazz (31-26) vs Hawks (32-23) @EnergySolutionsArena 2/27/13 @7 PM-MT

his defense is sub-par, its not the liability you guys have made it out to be. you talk like hes a mid-level player but we pay him 13mil. Al Has fire and heart, hes closed more games then anyone on our squad this year, right?

yet again you avoid my initial inquiry.

if al is so bad, why are other nba coaches(who get paid lots) sending a double team his way. is he not worthy of a double team?

I think we actually pay al 15 million. (i could be wrong though)

They send double teams at Al, because they know, that no matter how many people are guarding him, he is going to take the shot.

exactly al by his LONESOME.
basketball is a TEAMGAME
al is not a player
hence for al's his 20-10 rebound games he still sucks at basketball

bro you are flat out imbecile status, sorry to be mean but this is getting ignorant. do i need to post vids of jordan SINGLEHANDEDLY destroying the jazz, in a vacuum, by his lonesome.

its called an isolation player.

like i said, you guys dont like his skillset. you dont care about how efficient he is within that skill-set

he sucks at basketball? you say that like you think you could guard him, or like you have a case to be made that hes a mid-level player(yet you dont...)

I like how you've completely ignored my brilliant posts a few pages back.

Happy to see Favors get a ton of minutes and show he needs to be starting. His D wasn't great tonight, but with basically zero moves he's already a better offensive player than Al half the time which is pretty funny.

Shocked that no one here is bagging on Favors at all, just praising him. Favors played lazy. I think he might be mad that Jazz didnt trade anyone to make him a starter. He did not box out, he was lazy on rotations. Even on some of his blocked shots he should have been in position sooner. His defense was half ***. The first half I thought maybe he was conserving energy since he was getting more minutes than usual. I really hope he starts playing hard. Even with a bad effort game he still put up good numbers (at least on offense, defense was poor almost Jefferson like)

Also surprised people are complaining about Jefferson being a black hole. I thought he did a good job of kicking the ball out to open players who could not make open jump shots and then he started hanging on a little too much.

I think this has more to do with Jefferson being a horrible pairing with him. Josh Smith is also not an ideal matchup, Marvin seemed to do better with him. I agree Favors defense wasn't great tonight, but my gut feeling is that he knew he couldn't get in foul trouble because especially early he played very tentative defense. I don't know if Corbin told him to do so (wouldn't surprise me considering how bad his fouling issues have been recently), but I thought he had a nice game regardless.

Listen, I can only do so much with the lineup. People complained about Harris so we got Mo. People complained about him during the first 25 games so he conveniently developed an injury. Tinsley seemed to do the job for a while there but like anything in Jazzland, the Natives got restless. So, what choice did I have left? Burks? No way, he's not a vet. Watson's started a lot of games in this league. He's ranked 313th out of 334 qualifying players in PER. His TS% is 2nd to last or 333rd out of 334 players. What's not to like? Brotha brings a lot to the table.

ty this is a great point.

if you notice the bottom 100 players in PER, most are young guys adjusting to the nba, getting fringe bench minutes or fresh rookies, or theres a few deadweight vets, like watson.

im from brooklyn and have a bias towards tinsley about that. atleast he can hit 3s and has a nice 4.5/1 assist:to, you cant even find any stats that dictate earl should start at-all

i was pointing out his 'mental lapses' during the game. still he can accumulate stats quick. when favors was in hs he was a stat magnet, lets hope this is a sign of things to come

he 2x i think in the first half screened one of the other jazz players and allowed a wide open layup in the halfcourt, josh smith is a terrible matchup for favors though.

Bro, did you even read my post? This data clearly points out why Wattsun does need to be starting.

and your conclusion is he cant get the position, or we cant put enough threats around him, to ease his position? he can improve his position with fakes, reposts, spins, right?

the watson and foye lineup allowed the defense to really bunker down on the paint and quickly double al. he went 8-11 in the first half, mainly under those conditions
My beef is more with Corbin in these situations. When Al is getting denied position, he should not close. I do blame Al partially for using his same moves only 5-10' outside of his effective range.

In short, if he can't get position, he shouldn't be in the game.

Maybe but he was not blocking people out for rebounds he was jogging slowly up and down the court. He put his hands up for a pass and if it didnt come he slumped and walked away. I was not impressed with someone who wants to be a starter. On top of that if he was trying not to get in foul trouble he should not make stupid fouls for no reason like reaching around on rebounds that are secure that he has no chance to poke the ball out on.
