Jazz (31-26) vs Hawks (32-23) @EnergySolutionsArena 2/27/13 @7 PM-MT

You shouldn't. His comments started to sound like olive oil spilling through a hole in a lamb meat since Tyrone Corbin made it clear the young players are not gonna get their well deserved minutes.

I don't know what that means, but I agree with you. He just seems so quick to pick out any bad stat for favors and kanter, but Jefferson does no wrong.

We can´t blame Jefferson for that loss, he was the only player who could really score in the third quarter... Maybe, Al shooting 30 shots we would have won this one or going to OT.

P.S

I want to barf every time Watson tries to score the basketball.

I dont disagree that coaching staff can be to blame. I just thought that he would have more personal pride to put a full effort in. I wish more players played like Carroll and gave their full effort all the time. Every player we have except maybe Carroll and Hayward half *** their screens.

After two and a half years of no matter what you do, Al will get his, you can lose motivation.

Like I have been saying for months, if anyone believes that Jazz are going to let Al walk, they are crazy.

Every thing the Jazz do, SCREAMS that they are resigning Al.

We can blame Ty.

It amazes me everytime I read the board that people have such wildly different views of the same game. In my view jefferson really struggled all game long. Does it really matter if you score 20 when you give up 25. Al defense was horrible last night. Kanter deserves more time. Also while watson was beyond pathetic burks couldnt stay in front of teague at all either. This game really highlighted why we needed to make a trade at the deadline.

Agree with this. While I really like Burks and want to see him play 20-30 minutes a game, he's not a true PG and sometimes that gets highlighted. Unfortunately, right now it's some combination of Watson/Tinsley/Burks and we need someone who can have a meaningful offensive contribution especially off the bench.

oldtimer, is teague a free agent? i think i remember someone saying that. is he that goood or do we just stink that bad on defense/ okay, NOW i'm going to lunch.

Interesting to watch Locke's postcast. He seemed so frustrated with Al's defense but couldn't actually come right out and say it.

His TipOff is better and he pretty much did say it.
But the stats he used to back up that Al is a bad defender will make you double-flip .

Pretty much what he looked at was every pair of players on the Jazz (IE: Favors/Jefferson, Burks/Jefferson, etc) and took the offensive and defensive ratings that those pairs of players produced.
EVERY PLAYER that was paired with Jefferson caused a defensive rating per 100 possessions worse than the worst defensive team in the league.
So basically, when Al is on the court at any given time, we are the worst defensive team in the league by an average of at least 2-3 points depending on the other players playing. If you know what those stats mean, then you'll flip.

The Jefferson Favors combo gives up like around 112 points per 100 possessions. 7 points worse than the Bobcats defensive rating.
If we re-sign Jefferson, we're *****ed.

Yeah, I saw that. He also said that Favors and Kanter's defensive rating was based purely off the fact that they play against bench players. I mean, even if that's true, it's still the best defensive pairing on the team. That has to mean SOMETHING.

And the Milsap/Favors and Milsap/Kanter ratings are through the roof as well. Al also plays minutes against the bench because he plays the full 1st quarter and subs come in around 3 minutes. So it's not like Al is completely playing against starters either.
Soon I'm going to turn my level of Al hate into mini-Dutch level.

This made sense to me heading into the trade deadline. But right now I am lost.

Why not go the whole nine yards.
