Following potential 2013 draftees

Shabazz wants to be a scorer, nothing wrong with that. I understand why he got mad with not getting the ball when Drew II hit that game winner but not celebrating that was too far.

Nothing wrong with wanting to be a scorer, but it's the not celebrating bit and jumping out of his skin to get the last shot that gets me.

Even Kobe doesn't do that (well, not publicly anyway).

But if he's a "me first" type player - is he ever going to fit in any system? There are multiple incidents now confirming this contention.

I said it here first while he was still in HS .. so I get the concern. He's showing the right stuff lately (according to scouts).. no idea whether that's true, first hand..

He does do this too often though .. 'Bazz is 'me first.' No doubt. I think it's fixable.

Shabazz will not be a dominant NBA scorer because he didn't celebrate with his teammates after one of them didn't want to pass him the ball and made the game winner.

LOL.. well basketball is a team sport.. if you look at all the great ones, they realized this fact...

We'll just have to revisit this in 3-4 years time and see how he ends up. I usually have faith that people are good/can change, but this guy is on a whole 'nother level.

My big board currently

1. Mclemore
2. Oladipo
3. Bennett
4. Noel
5. Shabazz
6. Smart
7. Zeller
8. Porter
9. Burke
10. McCollum

Not how I think it will go though.

Im not sure what to think of Shabazz. I don't like his attitude, he hasnt impressed me all that much, and I don't like lefties. I kind of want to put him even lower.

Kabungo doesn't even make my top 20. Thats going to be a big biff by ugli.

I haven't done a big board for probably 6 months. Here's mine;

1) Noel
2) Shabazz
3) McLemore
4) Isaiah Austin (3 years needed to be good, though)
5) Zeller
6) Otto Porter
7) Len
8) Willie Cauley-Stein
9) Oladipo
10) Marcus Smart

* I know nothing about Gobert
** This draft class totally sucks, bad. (I've never found it so hard to come up with a top 10 .. and not because there are so many to choose from..)

So this probably belongs somewhere else but, if Portland stats where they are then their pick goes to the Bobcats! Suck that Portland!

My Big Board currently:

1) Noel
2) Smart
3) Muhammad
4) Mclemore
5) Oladipo
6) Porter
7) Bennet
8) Zeller
9) Kabongo
10) Burke

I wouldn't have any problem taking Bongo after #6. And keep in mind, this is coming from a guy who hasn't seen these guys play.

Go. Get. Bongo.

Cyrone's Big Board

1a. Noel
1b. Porter
3. Muhammed
4. Austin
5. Smart
6. McLemore
7. Zeller
8. Bennet
9. Len
10. Burke
11. Oladipo
12. MCW
13. Gobert
14. McCollum

Bam, lottery big board.

I see Smart as a decent player, but no way would I take him over McLemore. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think he can score well enough to be a really great NBA player. And honestly, drafting mediocre players at 5 overall is just as bad as drafting a total bust.

This draft is pretty meh ... even top 5.

I know it never pans out to be the truth anyways, but would someone make a quick NBA comparison to each of these guys for me? Loosely based obvi.

This is about the time of year I start paying attention to darft prospects.

Porter will be better than any player in next year's draft. Calling it.

Hack, remember to bring this topic up in 3 years.

Do you have a "one good post in a row" rule? Surely you wouldn't take Porter above all of Wiggins, Randle, Andrew Harrison, Parker .....

I tried doing that and had a hard time this year, pretty unique players. PKM might want to take a stab at it though.

The three best players in this draft are Shabazz, Noel and Porter in no specific order, but I was wondering about a scenario earlier. Since the Jazz need a small foward, let's say Shabazz or Porter was the consensus #1 pick around the league and the Jazz were sure that they were going to be a sure-fire all-star. Whoever has the #1 pick calls the Jazz and offers it for Derrick Favors would you do it? Why or why not?
