LIES! (Just keep reading)

^Those.

Also, what is the infatuation with all-star? Going back two seasons I said we have contender quality role players/starters but lack a player, maybe two. We don't need Hayward, Favors, or Kanter to be anything more than what they are.. and then another couple players .. and we have the ability to do that.

Where we screwed up was last year.. but that's a dead horse.

Its those writers from SLCDunk that are preaching the sky is falling ****. Follow any of them on twitter and they will drive you crazy. The moment you attempt to call them out on twitter; you get attacked for "following the company line" like Locke. Now, I am not a huge fan of Ty; but I had to start staying away from twitter during games because I couldn't stand the **** being spewed from all of them. If you follow Diana Allen, she is the worst. She expects everyone to agree with her opinion; but the moment you bring a different opinion to her; she tells you to stop telling her how to be a fan and blocks you. Some of the worst **** i've seen.

You trade Deron, a superstar, for two top 3 picks not expecting one to be as good as Deron? You have a top 10 pick and don't expect him to be at least an All-Star?

No wonder the Jazz suck. If you have two top 3 picks and a 9, you expect AT LEAST one to be a superstar. Especially when you give Deron up a year early.

If the Jazz are picking "pieces" at 3, 3, and 9...

jazz have 3 top 3 picks
dont forget marvin williams ;)

Twitter is brutally polarized with jazz fandom, save for JazzBasketball1 (Vslice). For every Diana Allen, there is also a LostTacoVendor who calls Jefferson Olajuwon.

Not 100% sure, but I think the tacovendor is joking. I don't use twitter though. I just got real sick of reading all the crap on slc dunk. It's like all the threads started on this site would get their own featured article, but its even more conjecture.

You are saving yourself a ton from avoiding twitter. I have never seen a more depressing group of sports fans than those who read SLCDunk on a daily basis. They all pine for the old days of Sloan, Karl, and John and get pissed when things have evolved. Diana is the worst. Never seen someone want to go back to the classic jazz days than her.

Did you know that the last time the Warriors were in the Playoffs was when they lost to the Jazz--2007! And that trip was the first time for them in the playoffs since 1994.

3 trips in 20 seasons. In those 20 seasons they had a winning percentage of .400, and .450 since the last playoffs in 2007.

In the playoffs Barnes (20) & Thompson (22) have played significant minutes, but Ezelie, Machado, Green, Bazemore (22-23) have not. Curry is 24, Bogut 28, Lee, Jack & Landry are all 29.

Also, please give me a list of all-stars selected at the 9th and 12th picks of the NBA draft *rolls eyes*

Dirk
McGrady
Marion
Stoudemire
Iguodala
Joakim Noah

There is a pretty chance you get an All-Star at 9. Paul George was picked #10.

Also, missing on one top 10 pick is ok. But all three?

p.s. I'm not so much ripping on the picks themselves but the development of those picks.

Also, I never mentioned #12. Thanks for putting words in my mouth.

Alright genius: Of the three draft picks we chose OURSELVES (#3, #9, #12) who could have we drafted that would have been a surefire all-star on this jazz team?

Secondly: so far, zero of the players on the Denver Nuggets that were traded for Melo, have been selected as all-stars. Should we now consider a 57-win team a failure?

You missed the point of the post. My issue isn't the picks made, but how the assets obtained from that trade have been used (they haven't). I've stated multiple times that I think Kanter will be a top three big man in a couple of years. I've stated I think Favor's floor is a better Chandler. So why aren't the Jazz issuing these assets? Why did Hayward's minutes drop this year? What was the point of trading Deron the last two years if you do not get anything worthwhile in return?

Basically my point is the Jazz have wasted the last two years with Al, Millsap, Howard, Bell, Foye, Marvin and Mo. They would have better off to keep Deron. At least they would have been a higher seed last year and made the playoffs this year.

Everyone here whines about how they don't want to tank because they don't want the Jazz to turn into the Timberwolves when the personnel decisions the past two years have been very Minnesota-like.

Playing the young guys is more Pop, OKC, LA, etc.

Playing Al and Paul over better, younger players is very Minnesota, Charlotte, GS.

Next year has so much potential for this team.

......has CryMelo won anything? How about Dwight Howard? Or Durant? Or maybe they need to be surrounded by trustworthy ROLE players!

lots of games? more games than any Jazz team has in the past few years? 2 conference finals? Defensive player of the year? Rookie of the year? Only one team can win it all every year.

Also.. don't act as if we had to get a superstar in exchange for Deron.. he was outta here regardless.

Not only was he outta here regardless, but he was not really a superstar anymore. He was injured, and pouty. He has not been extremely impressive in Brooklyn. Down 3-1 to the Bulls without D Rose does not happen to a superstar...

Aside from Dirk, I expect our young guys to be every bit as good as those players were. Favors is well on his way, Hayward is contributing a ton, and will have another good year coming up, and Kanter seems to have tons of potential. We may never have a scorer like McGrady, or as good a wing defender as Iggy, but overall production, I expect our young guys to at least approach everyone but Dirk on your list.

.....evolved? If anything it's "de-evolution"! Things have "changed" but certainly not for the better! Stockton and Malone are not coming through those doors, that's for sure! But if the Jazz expect fanz to pay good money for there product, they need to make some serious changes, which must include an immediate coaching change! Oh, and don't sign anymore dead weight to long term contracts!

Who did they sign to long term contracts recently? The only "dead weight" contract we have signed anyone to in the last 10 years was AK, and he was just over valued. He was a good player, maybe worth 10-12 million per year. They have traded for some guys that had a couple years left, but not really signed anyone.

I still give Ty an I for the season. Yes, there are times he drove me nuts with his insane rotations and other ****ty decisions. But, i want to give him one more season to see what happens. And what are these dead weight long term contracts?? If you want to refer to AK as one; which is gone thank goodness.

So the changes you want to make are: Fire Ty and get SVG right? Get rid of long term contracts....which are non existant on this roster... what else? Bring back Jerry? Looking for a throwback to classic Jazz times i take it.

And the Warriors are a whole lot more fun to watch than "throw it down to Big Al and wait 10 seconds for a wheezy".
