Give Smoove Just Under The Max

I really want this guy. Can you imagine the possibilities of Kanter-Favors-Smoove? BEAST. Go big go block party or go small...

I really wish he could run a three but consensus is that's about as effective as Millsap @ 3.

So he's not max money but he's this years Z-Bo, who nobody wanted to pay to beast. The nice thing about slightly overpaying is you can structure it with front loads so if the fit doesn't work you can always trade him next year to the team who wanted him for a mill less.

He doesn't play as hard as he used to. Otherwise, I'd dig the concept. He still dominates Paul Millsap and Gordon Hayward.

I love the idea of a front loaded contract for josh Smith. I said yesterday in a different post how much I love the idea of Smith with favors and kanter. He can pass , steal, block we would need him to stop shooting 3s so much though.

Wouldn't be opposed. However, I don't see it working to effectively if Corbin tries to implement a Smith-centric offense, which I'd have to assume would be the game plan.

Does he count as a vet? Will he flinch when Hayward throws a basketball at him in anger because he didn't cut?

I would take him over Al and Sap fo sho. And we could have some interesting lineups with him, like people have already said.

But did he seriously shoot 52% from the FT line this year?

I think if Smith was more of a small forward, I would be down with this. As it is though, I see him getting a lot of minutes at the power forward spot, that should go to Kanter.

Don't forget Jimmer.

ficksed that for everyone.

I'm sure we can pry the Jimmer from the Kings.
You know Corbin can release the awesome inside the Jimmer.
He's grate at developing the young players... he's getting a rep for that.

I think most of us would prefer to give the reigns to Favors/Kanter down low, too.

....two words. shot selection

After watching Smith for a season, I would probably select all of them.

If you cannot shoot, you should not be selected to play on our team.

Shot Selection.

I get it.

noo everyone doesnt have to shoot, aminu cant shoot that well, but has shot gamewinners off the dribble and is only 23. his shot selection improved this year, so his FG% went way up. because these idiots have stats that say his offense is bad doesnt mean he doesnt have all the tools, just needs time to sharpen them, check this video out its 47 seconds, and hes way bigger and way better now, this is from 4 years ago..

thats the thing with Aminu he doesnt want to chuck the ball, AT-ALL, he barely wants the ball in the halfcourt, he wants to rebound(10rebs per 36 for a SF, thats badass, stop hating)... unless hes 2 or 3 steps away from a highlight reel dunk or easy shot in the lane that he can jump 2 feet over the defense and make, hes not the worst offensive player in the league as GVC said.

he can bail you out when the shot clock fizzles with a quick drive, post move or jumpshot because he is unrivaled in athleticism and length therefore he always has a matchup advantage, he is the size of derrick favors. have i mentioned that?

hes there to be a menace on defense and the fast break and not be totally invisible in the halfcourt, which hed accomplish easily

i dont mean to bash DMC because he deserved more minutes, but Aminu's better and bigger, and more explosive, and younger, and has way more upside, and is infinetly more dangerous in the open court, with a full head of steam.

Aminu is the type of athlete that lebron james/anthony davis/favors wouldent even jump to try and block unless he was in perfect position, because it could be really embarrassing. thats where im at, and he wont cost 15mil per year like josh smith, and he would never ever ever chuck like josh smith
