In response to the Op..

Similiar things happened in South Africa leading up to the World Cup in 2010....

I was there in 2009 and last year....

The improvements and money that the World Cup brought to South Africa was amazing!!

Was a real boost in there economy and huge improvements to public transport!!!

FIFA will drop tons of money into Brasil and it will workout!!!

I don't think I've been too unreasonable in all honesty-- it's hard to tell with what tone people are making their posts sometimes.
