Jazz FA rumors

No way that'll get the deal done with the GSW. Not when you're competing with the Hawks & Cavs who have much better picks.

I am sure there would be more in it than just 1 pick. My point being is that you do not start high. You start low and try to get the best deal you can. Just running out there and throwing them your best stuff is desperate and the Warriors are the desperate team, not Utah.

There is NO reason to give away 14's pick. You can easily do 2015 and that wouldn't hold up the deal. They are trying to get the best big man in basketball. They will fold if you offer a 2015 pick and Burks. No one else can offer that. And you don't help the Lakers out.

Hands down best deal out there.

Not unless the Hawks or the Cavs can offer them '14 picks though. We're competing against other teams here, it's not just the Jazz that have cap space.

Of course you don't start high, you get the best deal. But realistically, taking everything into account (competing with Hawks & Cavs for the best deal), I think it'll realistically come down to the '14 pick.

With that - do you say yes or no?

Give them Tomic as well. Help them replace Beidrens and Bogut. They give up 2 garbage big men, a garbage wing and a promising wing. With Burks and Tomic, then get two big men back (including the best big man in basketball), a promising wing back, dump bad contracts AND a first round draft pick. Pretty good haul for GS.

Atl/Cle can't offer that.

Not true, there are other teams with cap space.

I say no. I say Burks, Tomic and 2015 has more value for GS than just the 2014.

Where do you think Barnes would go in '14 draft? I'd say #7. So that would be better than #10.

Plus we forego "tanking" next season, we can skip a step and start shooting for the playoffs straight away.

Skipping a step has lead to the last 3 seasons. No more skipping steps.

I want Bogut here just for the Trout/EJ Wells comedy factor. :)

I really don't want anything to do with bogut unless we are getting some serious assets back in return for nothing

Barnes is being WAY overvalued here.

Priceline thinks some of you guys are terrible negotiators.

Not true, there are other teams with cap space.

The Warriors are desperate to offload those contracts. Other teams being interested does not make Utah desperate. This is not a deal Utah has to do. It is one that the Warriors have to do (with any team) if they want Dwight. So yes Utah is not desperate while GSTankers are.

Isn't there only 1 year left on his contract? But yes, if we are swallowing that pill I want compensation. Prefferably picks or Barnes/Thompson.

So, HoopsHype tweeted out that GS is lining up Iguadala as their backup plan if Howard won't sign with GS. Twitter also says that GS is talking Bogut to Utah.

So, my question is this:

If GS wants to get rid of Bogut, why would they be interested in Iguadala unless they are planning on Thompson or Barnes being gone?

Also, Sean Pendergast tweeted out that Dwight and Curry made "some kind of drunk Vine" at 3 am last night and GS is desperately trying to clear cap space.

16 and 7 in the playoffs? If you can get Barnes or Thompson for taking on bad contracts, you haven't over-valued anyone at all.
