was watching the SL and how Gobert was doing. I think I have the perfect nick name


The Eraser

because when a jazz player makes a mistake Gobert will come in and erase it with a block or put back or rebound. he will make players better shooters just by the confidence they will get knowing he is in the paint. also total team defense will improve because players can over play knowing he is there.

His nickname is the Eiffel Tower.

When he blocks a shot, you say "The French Rejection".

When you are watching a highlight reel you say "I'm watching The Gobert Report".

You forgot...when you are eating Gobstoppers you say "These are pretty good Gobstoppers, despite the fact that they have the texture of Erasers."

Yeah, but it's already taken. That would be like calling Hayward "Money Man" when he hits a 3-pointer.

We have a huge selection of French inspired nicknames for Gobert, we don't need to repeat past nicknames from old Jazz players.

How about "The Bear" since he's Big and Huge and it rhymes with his name? He might need to bulk up a bit to grow into that name, but he'll get there.

No.

Nothing about him is Bear-like at all.

Why can't you just accept his already massive pool of above average nicknames? Most players just get their initials plus jersey number.
 
Also, possible nickname for Gobert's hook shot if it ever develops to something of notoriety... "The French Kiss".
 
And if you really have to have a lame nickname, at least make it lame and relevant to France

Something like "The Big Cheese"

It can be his physical attributes then, or may be what he can do well, or what he likes/enjoys or what he believes in. Are all French man the same? No. They all have unique personalities and qualities. On that basis I think there are other things far more worthy to be used than simply his Nationality.

I'm born as a Thai, but grew up in New Zealand, does that mean those countries define me? No. I think of myself as a citizen of the world and I do believe that I have much more to contribute to this World as a whole than where I was born or grew up.

The Eiffel Tower: A tall ****ing tower that is in France.
Gobert: A tall ****ing guy from France.

Therefore "The Eiffel Tower" both describes his nationality and physical attributes.

The French Connection: Heroin Trafficking Scheme in France
Gobert: Due to his height and length he is able to block shots

Therefore "The French Rejection" is a clever play on words that both ties in his ability to block shots (rejection) and his French nationality. Also heroin's slang name (smack) is also another slang for blocking a shot, so it makes it even cooler.

The Cobert Report: One of the best shows on television.
Rudy Gobert: His name rhymes with Cobert

Therefore when you watch Gobert's highlight films, which will be one of the best things to watch due to the high amount of blocks and dunks, it will be akin to the entertainment quality of The Cobert Report, therefore we name his highlight reels "The Gobert Report".


French Kiss: A form of kissing that is very slow and sensual.
Gobert's Hook Shot: Also slow and he delivers it with a soft touch.

Therefore we call Gobert's hook shot "The French Kiss" because it turns Jazzfanz on.

*NOTE*: This name for his hook-shot isn't official until he develops one that is worthy.


See KKK, why you might not be proud of your nationality, I'm sure Gobert is. He will look at these nicknames as a badge of honor that will allow him to represent France and be a total badass.
