I started a thread a while back when I first got into homebrewing. I've got 12 or so batches under my belt and today I had my proudest homebrew moment. I poured a pretty decent looking black & tan from my kegerator. see below

The "Black" is a robust porter that is more chocolate than coffee. It's about 6%abv and I call it "Pistol Porter." My wife named it and it was between "Pistol Porter" and "Rockwell Porter" but my wife over-estimated how well known Rockwell Porter was so we went with the other. The "Tan" is based on an English-style pale ale referred to as a bitter, and in this case an Extra Special Bitter (ESB). It's somewhat of a misnomer, as it is one of the less-bitter (or "hoppy") styles out there. Quite a bit less bitter then a standard American-style pale ale. I call it "Young's Special Bitter" because it's my version of an ESB, it runs about 7%abv.

The other tap has a Hefewiezen that turned out so-so. I've got another batch of that going that I hope will be a little better.

Here's the label my wife chose for the Pistol Porter:

The label did not come out GF. Sounds like you're getting the hang of things. Out here in LA, in the last couple of years or so, there has been an explosion of bars and restaurants that are now serving "craft" beer.

I think it should work now.

Yeah, I think I'm on the leading edge of an explosion in homebrewing. I've been drinking pretty much nothing but beer I brew for the last 6 months and the few times I've had store-bought beer since then I've thought "I'll pass."

Im diggin the label. And I dont like most things. I think the girl needs to be move a little more to the right...maybe where her hand is almost touching the word "young."

Yeah, I've got a few buddies out here who are into the whole homebrewing experience. I have yet to taste any of it though. Are there places in Utahr that allow you to buy any artisan beer stuff?

That looks great man! The kegerator looks nice too. Did you build that or buy it?

I modified a chest freezer. It can hold five "corny" kegs, which are old soda kegs that hold 5 gallons each.

FYI, Sam Adams was having some microbrew contest. Not sure if they're still having it or what and you probably already know about what I'm referring to but thought I'd throw it out there.

I haven't had a beer in a long long time, but that creation of yours looks super. Good on ya.
