What's new

14th Tank Platoon

I see Favors and Burke making some strides, if Burke starts making his shots I think we got a real good player on our hands. Burks too but he wont amount to that much unless he learns to shoot tbh (although I hope he does).

Lakers will get Jabari

We will get Marcus smart.

Lakers will sign a big free agent or two.

We won't. And 2 starters from our current roster will flee our corpse for new contracts with contenders.

Corbin will be reupped. He will love these guys.

Lakers will be back into the playoffs. We will be back to a 8-10 spot in the west.

Yay

Hopefully Trey gets injured soon.

His injury needs to save this franchise from itself.

It is better that one season should perish than an entire decade be wasted in mediocrity. I will happily take Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins over whatever "progression" our kids are making with Marvin and Jefferson.

3 good games for the Tank tomorrow. NO @ Cle, Orl @ Det, Bos @NYK. Basically whoever wins it will be a good think. Bonus if Lakers beat the Pacers.

Did you really think there was a chance to lose a game vs the Kings sans Gay and Boogie?

Assuming they lose to Golden State on Friday, they'll be 16-30 through 46 games with 36 games left to play.

Of those 36 games, half are at home (8-11) and half are away (8-19). They have a 6 game road trip vs. East teams and 8 pairs of back-to-back games. They also have 18 games against teams currently qualified for the playoffs, as well as 8 games against the five teams (Detroit, New York, Memphis, Denver and Minnesota) that are still fighting for the last playoff spots in each Conference.

The schedule gets brutal here over the next two weeks, then they could face significant changes in the roster at the trade deadline, things ease up a bit for their stretch against Eastern teams, but they're on the road a lot during that time, all of the young guys are playing increased minutes and bigger roles (so hitting the wall is a real possibility for all of the Core5 guys - especially Burke) and then the schedule gets hard again at the end against a bunch of teams likely pushing to make the playoffs.

They need 14 wins to get to 30. Where do they come from? I think they finish 12-24 to end up 28-54 and end up picking 5th or 6th overall in the draft.

1/31 vs. Golden State Warriors - L
2/01 @ Los Angeles Clippers - L
2/03 vs. Toronto Raptors - W (Toronto playing the 3rd game in 4 nights on a road trip)
2/07 @ Dallas Mavericks - L
2/08 vs. Miami Heat (back to back) - L
2/11 @ Los Angeles Lakers - W (1 more night rest and Lakers played the Bulls 2 days ago)
2/12 vs. Philadelphia 76ers (back to back) - L (Philly has a night rest and only a flight from Oakland)
2/19 vs. Brooklyn Nets - L (Rested senior legs)

2/20 - Trade Deadline - Hopefully DL flips Marvin and Jefferson for something.

2/21 @ Portland Trailblazers - L
2/22 vs. Minnesota T-Wolves (back to back against a bubble playoff team) - L (Minny has 2 nights of rest, and I wouldn't call the Blazers a bubble playoff team)
2/24 vs. Boston Celtics - W (Both teams have same amount of rest, but Cs on a road trip)
2/26 vs. Phoenix Suns - W (PHX on a back to back against MInny the night before, but it's 50-50 with the higher talent level/coaching, young legs and short flight from PHX)
2/28 @ Cleveland Cavs (start 6 game road trip) - L (Cleveland having same amount of rest, coming home from OKC and they'll find together for a final playoff push, but it's close)
3/02 @ Indianapolis Pacers - L
3/03 @ Milwaukee (back to back) - W(MIlwaukee also hosts the Nets 2 nights prior to the game, but it's close)
3/05 @ Washington Wizards - L (Home court adv)
3/07 @ New York Knicks - L (No back to back and Knicks regaining shape slowly towards the Playoffs and Chandler healthy)
3/08 @ Philadelphia 76ers (back to back and finish road trip) - L (Sixers have 3 nights of rest - YOUNG LEGS)
3/10 vs. Atlanta Hawks - W (Home court and Hawks road trip, 3rd game in 4 nights)
3/12 vs. Dallas Mavericks - W (Dallas 3rd game in 4 nights AND on a back to back flying in from Oakland)
3/14 vs. Los Angeles Clippers - L
3/16 @ San Antonio Spurs - L
3/17 @ Houston Rockets (back to back away games against West playoff teams) - L
3/19 @ Memphis Grizzlies - L(Memphis has 2 nights rest, Jazz don't and ROAD)
3/22 vs. Orlando Magic - W(It's very close, Orlando has 2 nights rest, coming in from PHX, but home court adv and stuff)
3/24 vs. Detroit Pistons - L(Detroit on a road trip, with 1 night of rest, coming in from LAC. Very close, but I think Detroit's lack of range can't be abused from No-D Corbin)
3/26 vs. Memphis Grizzlies - L(Memphis has 1 night rest, 1st game on the road)
3/28 @ New Orleans Pelicans - L(Same amount of rest and road)
3/30 @ Oklahoma City Thunder - L
3/31 vs. New York Knicks (back to back) - L(NYK unfortunately on a back to back from Oakland as well, but it's very close due to home court)
4/04 vs. New Orleans Pelicans - L(Coming from Denver with 1 night of rest, but close due to home court)
4/06 @ Golden State Warriors - L
4/08 vs. Dallas Mavericks - L(Coming from Sacto with 1 night of rest)
4/11 vs. Portland Trailblazers - L
4/12 @ Denver Nuggets (back to back) - L(Denver with 1 night of rest, but 3 games in 4 nights, but it's at their place. Close one....)
4/14 vs. Los Angeles Lakers - W(Back to back for the Lakers)
4/16 @ Minnesota T-Wolves - L(Minny with 3rd game in 4 nights, but they got home court. Unfortunately close. I hope they're in playoff pursuit)

So with my prediction the Jazz end up with 25 wins. You guys happy with 25 wins? If I had to say a range of wins, I'd say 23-28. With more than 25 a little more likely.

Update!

I would take 25 wins and be happy at this point

Nine wins means the Jazz have injuries or intentionally tank. I just don't think they will.

I agree..... which is why i say i would be happy with 25

I think they finish with more

There are actually 37 games left. And the problem with looking at the schedule is that Jazz have won a lot more games that you would consider a L before hand than the other way around to this point (once Burke came back). And the team is getting better by the week while other teams seam to be getting worse. Jazz have been .500 since Burke came back. Any projections of them being around 25 wins is pretty ridiculous (9-28 in the remaining games, less than .250 record) although the schedule does get harder, so I don't think they keep up the .500 clip. Probably be closer to 15-22 (31 wins to end season).

The Grizzlies and Wolves are starting to figure it out. I still think there is a 25% chance that GS drops out of the playoffs.

As we've seen, one injury to a starter and suddenly that team has a tough time winning (see AI for the GSW).

This.
I agree 100% unfortunately

Wasn't Kobe only suppose to miss like 4-6 weeks? That was at the beginning of december I believe. Even the Lakers are better at tanking then us...

All of this. L-O-L @ anyone who thinks we end up with less than 30 wins. Zero chance.

on the app. square bizness.
