Very quiet year for trades. Nothing major and no 1sts dealt. DL was wise in getting GS pick this summer - as were several other GM's. Wonder if this is a new trend? Teams are getting their finances aligned during free agency. No one has to dump contracts, although the Lakers have been trying to get under.

After I saw the Hawes trade I pretty much knew nothing would happen. If Hawes can only land that, that means Marvin/Jefferson/Rush probably are only getting offers back that include long-term contracts, which I know DL doesn;t want.

Yes. The only thing that can't be done is to trade him to the same team that he signs an offer sheet with (if he goes that route).
