NBA Attendance Report 2014 - Jazz is #12

Last season I managed to get a few lower bowl center tickets for pretty cheap. 20 bucks or so, but it would be against really poor teams like Orlando or Sacramento. Couldnt find anything close this season. Tickets are cheaper than other markets but still expensive when you consider what you pay and what you end up getting to watch.

you do know empty season ticket holder seats count with those numbers right.

those guys got season tickets because they tough c4 would finally play etc etc.

there was promise

This entire post shows how dumb we are getting...

And he brings down the overall IQ of jazzfanz. He's not the only one with the idea that the the c5 play so few minutes.

Well tbh i remember someone posting that the core 5 played a small amount of minutes on the court at the same time together. That should not have the case

Bull****. Compared to what markets and using what metric? Average price? Median price? Cheapest ticket/get in price?

Are they one of the cheaper tickets? Yes. But not by much on average. And certainly not enough to explain their attendance rates compared to other markets with cheaper tickets. Plus they're one of the smallest markets in the league so of course prices will be lower. But underpriced? If you're not selling out every night then your prices probably aren't "underpriced."

I've gotten into many clippers games for <$10 too. Jazz at clippers tickets for row 30 were $35. Comparable to jazz lower bowl prices in Utah.

Well, having lived in SLC, Portland, and Sacramento, I call tell you that Jazz tickets are a lot cheaper. Season tix for Portland is about 12k for 2 lower bowl (about 5th row). Sacramento charges about $19k for the same, and front row goes up to about 56k for two seats. Crazy. Portland is about 14k.

The cost of living is pretty similar from SLC to Portland, and salaries are about the same as well (at least in my industry). I feel like Utah has pretty good pricing on premium seating, but I wouldn't say they ware too far below the competition. It would be interesting to seek rankings by team based on revenue from ticket sales. I'm guess the Jazz are in the bottom 5.

The Millers are gonna make more money off those Wiggins jerseys than they ever would from ticket sales.

Yes. And I think that's the whole point of the argument: that RJ and MW should have both come off the bench. Then you could have had Enes and Derrick learning to play together. And the same with Burks and Hayward. Who cares if the bench was weak? Well, Corbin because he was trying to maximize wins.

I know most of us envisioned the starting five (core5) being very competitive against most teams, especially at home, then the bench giving up leads in the early 2nd/4th quarters.

So next year, we might finally see IF the wings and bigs can co-exist. That should have happened THIS year. I partially blame DL. He could have stepped in to make sure it happened.

The link you sent me just proved my point, Jazz games' average ticket prices are lower than 17 teams, which is more than half the league.

On Christmas day, I went to Spurs-Rockets in San Antonio and I was shocked by how expensive the tickets were. And I got them from a secondary discount site. Only game in town, plus best team of the past decade I guess.
