Following potential 2014 draftees

That's kind of what I meant. Parker comes in ready to play and score. That makes Utah a better team from Day 1. Embiid is more raw, he improves fast, but not as much impact from Day 1. Therefore Jazz finish with a worse record and get a better pick in 2015.

Yeah I was just irritated because you wrote: improve slowly.

I think a healthy Embiid will be 8PPG 7RPG 1.5BPG 4FPG as a rookie and avg a solid double double in his 2nd year and his 4th he'll be a 20-10 threat. That's how fast I think he'll improve.

Defense hasn't kept most All-Stars from being All-Stars.

Parker will be an All-Star at least 5 times. If he goes to a big market (Philly, LA, Boston) he will be an All Star at least 10 times.
Well... you asked what I disagree with. If you actually thought that I don't think you'd have him third on your big board.

If there is one thing we've learned over the years is that NBA front office types always tell the truth leading up to the draft.

If Philly loves Randle, could you move Burks to move up?

Philly can let Young walk, and start this team:

MCW
Burks
FA
Randle
Noel

not too bad

I have him third because I'm terrified of drafting Oden or Bowie. Give me Durrant or Jordan and I'll take the risk that Embiid turns into Hakeem.

I'd be very wary of moving Burks this off-season. He still has a chance to be an all-star in the League. His ability to get to the line is a rare and valuable skill and I think I want him on my side going forward.

The thing I see with Philly is that they draft back court no matter what. They know they'll be top4 next year again.
So they go for Wiggins/Smart/Exum and maybe Parker. Next year is full of bigs and it gives them time to evaluate Noel - HOw does his frame develop? Fast enough to guard the perimeter? Strong enough to be a rim protector? Defensively Ibaka who can rotate inside to challenge even though he guards Nowitzki...

Next year is full of Bigs. Okafor, Alexander, Towns and Mudiay are the highest projected by DX and I feel like if next years wouldn't be so deep in terms of bigs they'd pick Embiid. Because an injury to him would basically mean: We get 1 more top4 draft pick and simply delay their rebuild another year.

For the Jazz missing on Embiid would mean that they're #10 next year and would have to get Pacers-lucky to form that group into an contender. So you risk picking only 2nd best upside with more certainty from a small market business standpoint. I don't think the Millers will trade everyone on their roster for mediocre first rounders, take bad contracts back and go all Philly when you have promising complementary players in place.

But once the draw is over I'll do a super quick projection on team needs and draft strategy before I go to sleep.

I like Jokic, but in the 40's. though id be happy if hes the 2nd round pick, i think his skill level is that of a 1st rounder but his athleticism concerns me. Im sure better value will be on the board at 35.

do you think hes a better prospect than Micic?

he reminds me of Nenad Kristic

I do think he is a better prospect. Higher potential. Athleticism is a concern with Micic as well. What makes me like Jokic more is his passing. To have an advanced feel for the game while you were almost unknown the year before is amazing. He also said in his interview that he would work on his athleticism.

Big board is Inglis/Jokic/Micic/Tavares.

Teams in Top 10 that would likely take Parker No. 1 if draft was today according to sources: Jazz, Pistons, Cavs, Pelicans

didn't see this.

This dude doesn't know **** about Polynesians, but he's correct here.

Naos has a science degree in polynesian.

Welp....

Cavs will take Wiggins
Bucks will take Parker or Embiid
Sixers will take Parker, Embiid or Exum
Magic will take Exum or Embiid

There's a chance someone (i.e., Sixers) falls in love with Randle or Vonleh in the top 4. Just a chance. Maybe Exum or Embiid falls to the Jazz. Otherwise, it's the Jazz with Vonleh, Randle or Smart.

Not sure if the Jazz could make a deal to get up a spot or two.

Embiid is the key. Are teams happy with his back??? If not he could fall as low as #5.

... and Cleveland is taking Wiggins, no doubt
