1. Embiid's back still needs to be somewhat of a concern, though. Just don't know how he'll be night after night with contact. Doesn't really matter to Utah as he'll be a top-3 pick.
2. IMO, Jabari had the most to gain/lose after the reports of him being out of shape. He's solidified his place in the top-3.
3. Gordon looked good. I wouldn't be disappointed with him or Vonleh at #5.
 
Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders just said that Exum is a better defender than Smart. Is that true?

he finished over 50% of his bachelors this year at IU, also showed up on campus like 2 days after HS graduation, so he could start working right away, he was with Zeller and Oladipo while they were preparing for last years draft, and in the last year or so hes put on over 25lbs, at 18 hes just scratching the surface of his potential but he certainly has the work ethic to make it happen.

I still want Vonleh, followed by Gordon. Admittedly, haven't seen Exum, but I'd rather add to the big rotation and have Burke, Burks, Hayward and possibly Neto as the guards.

Anyone remember how strong the team was at the 4/5 with Al, Paul, Derrick and Enes?
As Jazz4ever notes, there is time for all 4 right now. Gobert and Vonleh are raw. You could easily have both of them play 15/per behind Favors and Kanter and that would be great for now. Injuries or foul trouble give them more time. Vonleh is a potential Paul George. He may still be growing. Outside the top 4, Vonleh, IMO, has the most potential to be a franchise-type player. The other thing that plays into this is we don't even know if we can re-sign Enes (or want to for what he'll probably want). Eventually we probably do need to decide. There won't be enough $ to pay Favors, Kanter and Gobert. But imagine the trade value of a good big.

I'm on board with drafting Vonleh - if he's available. I think there's a good chance he moves up and pushes Exum down. Then draft or trade the other picks for a good SF.

You are also forgetting about Hayward this season. He's likely to be very expensive to retain.

I was counting that in. By the time starters are re-signed, backups will be difficult to retain once they are off their rookie contracts. You look at the money being thrown around for bigs and it's alarming. If you're 6'11" and can walk and chew gum at the same time, you get $8-10M. Whatever the rotation, I like having Vonleh as a stretch-4 opening up the inside for the others.

I really do think after listening to DL talk about players who are still developing skill-wise but have NBA bodies, the pick comes down to Vonleh or Gordon.
