After all the nice things JVG said about the Jazz, I wish it were him. With his brother jumping back into coaching, you have to wonder if Jeff wouldn't entertain the idea as well. JVG or Messina for me!
I agree

If it was gonna be John it woulda been John a long time ago.Stockton could be tight lipped about it, or Messina cause he's still coaching! We need to get this coach right...
This has probably been said but I didn't take the time to read 88 pages of posts so I will say it myself. All of this "coach search" is just the Jazz FO biding time until the Spurs finish the playoffs so they can make the Boylen hire... book it.
Waiting!!!So President Rigby was on 1280 this afternoon, and I must say that Dennis Lindsey must be rubbing off on him...he didn't give up much. He would not confirm that the jazz are down to 4 candidates. He said that jazz don't just hire a coach they marry a coach. No word yet if attorney general Reyes will recognize the marriage, maybe that is why the coach search is now in its 7th week.
But he did talk sort of like maybe a decision had been made of some sorts. He said they were much further along this week than last week and that he expects to be even further along next week. He went on to say he feels very good and very comfortable and it feels right within his heart (abt 17:35). I don't know if that was about the process, about a specific coach or about the values they put in place.
He also said the candidates were excited and ...
This would make me happy too.Gentry would be frankly disappointing to me. I could get on board with Griffin or Snyder. The question mark is intriguing...
My fantasy: Messina as head coach, Stockton as 1st assistant.
Rigby is so incredibly annoying. I would rather dig my eardrums out with a spoon than listen to that sanctimonious know-nothing yes-man ever again. So President Rigby was on 1280 this afternoon, and I must say that Dennis Lindsey must be rubbing off on him...he didn't give up much. I wonder what kept JVG from the job?
Who's Blatt?

Still think Boylen should still be in play if Spurs win it all this year.
I think the secret fourth candidate is Van Gundy.
I hope so, but doubt it. JVG is not perfect, but compared to Alvin Gentry he might as well be Phil Jackson.
**I would love to get Van Gundy.
**I expect Griffin or Snyder and am good with either(slight preference toward Griffin).
**I would loathe hiring Gentry. I view him as a downgrade even vs Corbin.
