Projected record of 26-56. 1/2 game better than the Vegas odds.

It cites two main things:

1. "porous defense"

2. "...poor in the low posts, as Favors gets no help inside"



I think the Jazz are much better than thought and win about 34 games.

I think it is based entirely off last years performance and that sells this team short. They won't make the playoffs but they will win more than 26 games.

I still stand by my 29 win prediction from several months ago. That would put us at about 13 in the west...

Something that should be said is the timing of our rebuild. The western conference is getting a little weaker. The next five years will probably be softer than the last.

Per ESPN, with an average D, the Jazz will win 39 games. I think it's reasonable to expect that from the team considering what we saw in pre-season so far.

These previews are garbage every year. Every year they project virtually every team to remain exactly the same as last year, accounting only for big-name personnel changes. Every year they are hopelessly wrong. The only "improvement" over the years has been the addition of a kindergarten analysis that even the most casual of fans will learn nothing new from.

I thought Pelton would give us more love, Locke shows him a lot of love by getting him on podcast.

Our half-court defense is still an issue, even with Gobert. Look at how Blake just dominated us in preseason. I know Blake is a top 5 player and all, but he made it look like he got buckets inside whenever he felt like it.

It's hard to blame them. Most of Utah's young players have lost the grace period of improvement with the mainstream media. Most of them are probably viewed as finished products and they don't account for the bad system coaching that Corbin forced on them.

Collison could be an upgrade in the long run. Not anywhere near the scorer, but do the Kings really need scoring when they have Cousins and Gay? Better defender and will take less shots and feed the scorers more.

Honestly, if the Kings didn't have Gay, I would like them way more. I think Cousins is on the verge of figuring it out and converting stats into wins.
