Grantland League Rankings - Fun To Watch

It's ranking of how fun a team will be to watch btw, not ranking on how good they think they will be (though that probably factors into it)

You are right. I figured they could read that on their own. Edited the title.

What a garbage, horse excrement of a list. No way should, especially under this particular category, the Jazz rank so pathetically low.

Snyder watches film and sees crazy play-design possibilities that no one else sees. Everyone is jacking 3s for Utah in the preseason — Favors, Kanter, Jazz Bear, Matt Harpring. We made the right move bumping them to no. 28, and we’re going to regret not having them higher.

lol simmons is pretty high on the jazz but he cant rank them higher....He knows last season what happen and our roster didnt change much also snyder is new and he cant judge him yet, but the rankings where made before any games where played i believe.

we are not a sexy team yet. no all stars. but that can all change as we get better. that's just how it is. national media doesn't cover anything utah

The first preseason trouncing that the Jazz put on the Lakers is proof. The entire video was Kobe highlights then the score board and "...but Utah wins big".

That is reality, people like stars. We have none, yet. They also love scrappy hard working teams that win against the odds, say the Jazz could become popular.

We have a future superstar in the cloned Kobe from Australia, and two borderline all stars with favors and hayward. Heck, even the burke's brothers could be borderline all stars. Now if at least one of hood or kanter figure this thing out, watch out.

If Hayward keeps up his D, steals and %s then he would be an allstar if he was on any big market team.

If Simmons studied the team at all, he'd see the Jazz were actually very competitive (just under .500) after the brutal start right up to the all-star break. That coincided with Utah replacing the two worst PG's in the league. Lucas and Tinsley weren't just bad...there were historically bad. And then the team just quit in March/April. Outside of Burke trying to prove himself as a rookie, there was no fight. It was clear players wanted Ty gone and were set on making it happen. Same roster? OK, maybe Marvin had a small positive role. But RJ? IINM, his defensive rating for his position was near the bottom of the league. I'd say Booker is more than an adequate replacement for MW. And RJ won't be missed at all. Increase Burks' minutes, play Hood; there won't be an overall dropoff. Whether ranking them based on their projected record or "fun ratio," I just don't understand HOW this team can be viewed as the same as last season. Heck, just assuming Gobert is going to get rotation minutes in all the games instead of limited mins. in half of them is enough to warrant watching. Add in an increased role for Burks: he's definitely "must-see" with his acrobatic drives.

Don't forget a potential defensive star in Gobert. I think Hood has already figured it out; he just needs some experience to get better defensively. I'd say IF Exum progresses we have something special. But it could fall apart if we lose Burks this offseason and then Hayward in a couple of years.

You forgot about the future DPOY, Gobert

Oh, you mean joakim Noah's better looking clone?

So we have:
Australian Kobe
Not sideshow Noah
Dwayne wades little brother
Mike Conley junior
Larry bird lite
And Rodney hood, who will change the league as we know it.

the team was actually performing very well when burke got back and where on a good .500 pace that 1-13 start really crapped on us hard and yes agree we had the worst PGs in the league in Tinsley.

^
Yes, we had crap pg's and a rookie, but that brief span of .500 ball came during an uncharacteristically easy part of the schedule, so I'm not sure much can be said about those wins. Our starting schedule was brutal, and then it got really, really easy before picking up again.

Our system sucked last year, along with our coach. We were the most undesireable mix of "past our prime" and young. Now our system looks really, really good, no one is past their prime, our young core finally got some experience, our sophomores are stepping up, and the rooks we added are tantilizing. Good things can happen, but it is understandably hard for an outsider to predict our positive transformation from our history in recent seasons.
