Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

Just took a quick look at the game logs, and it looks like 9 of 10 of Booker's 3-point attempts in Washington were to beat the buzzer. 6 of 10 were from 30+ feet. In other words, that 1-10 statistic is 100% worthless.

Can't argue with that...nice research.
It will be interesting to see if Booker can maintain his quality 3pt %. Whether he does or not, there's no disagreement he was a good find and appears to be a big bargain at his contract price.

The thing I like about Booker 3's opposed to Kanter 3's, is that Booker can make defenses pay for not closing out properly with his dribble drive game. Even if Kanter became a pretty good 3pt shooter, I don't think he would ever be able to dribble past anyone on the perimeter.

Anyone can dribble past someone who is running at you. It's not like Booker beats his man when the defense has done a good job of closing out. Better 3pt shooter spreads the floor more, therefore is more valuable. If Kanter managed to shoot better from behind the arc, he would be far more valuable on offense than Booker.

Lol. Booker crossed some dude over in the preseason. He is better than Kanter. It's clear as day. I don't care if Kanter is hitting all his shots, the guy can't play defense and Booker can.

That's why I said he would be more valuable on offense and not overall. I thought you would understand that since I haven't said anything about who is better at defense or the better player at all. I guess I was wrong.

My argument boils down to better 3pt shooter is much more valuable that average 3pt shooter who can sometimes dribble past his defender who runs at him. Be it Enes or Trevor.

Booker also moves the ball very well.

Last night, Booker had a mismatch down low against IIRC Isaiah Thomas. Trey mase the post entry pass, at which point Trey's man (who must have been a big) immediately moved to double on Booker. Booker made a touch pass (i.e. without even catching the pass)right back out to Trey, which got the defense moving more. I think Trey swung the ball to Gordo, who may have put up a 3. The touch pass was pretty.

I remember that play.
You got it exactly right and it was beautiful

Yes that was a nice pass by Booker to Trey. It was Hood that got the pass from Trey and his missed the open 3-pointer from straightaway.

Yes, anyone can, but Booker also can beat his man off the dribble when guarded on the perimeter. He's much quicker than most of the 4's in the league, and that includes Millsap. In fact, he's as quick as many 3's.

Booker passes better, shoots better an is not far behind on finishing down low. I don't see how even if Kanter lights it up from outside he is more valuable on either end of the floor than Booker. At least right now. I don't mind Kanter starting for now. I like Booker's skill set with Rudy off of the bench. But if Kanter wants more minutes then he better start playing far better than he is. And that is on both ends of the floor.
