Sloan disses Jefferson's defense.

Did he ever make comments on Boozer in the same regard?

What? Did he see Boozer's defense? I also wanna know if he ever made a comment about Boozer's (non)defense.

That's cause he's seen him play good D and that the Jazz D has been horrid as of late.

Much much better in the 2nd half tonight however.

In watching the games I'm far more concerned about our inability to score than I am about our defense. If for no other reason than the sputtering offense is very atypical.

Yup. The Atlanta game pretty much sums up that concern.

There was a period, at the start of the second half, where they had a cluster of threes to get the lead down to 10, I believe. The Hawks then missed consecutive shots (maybe more) and Utah scored absolutely zero points. It was very frustrating to watch.

This offense is not good. It's making comebacks far harder because they just don't have the firepower to climb out of holes (last night being the exception as of late).

Are you quoting this right?

I was watching Sloan's interview and he commented on playing defence and said something along the line of letting your opponent know you're there by sometimes committing a few fouls (i.e., can't just let your opponent blow by you all day long)..

Then he went on to say playing bad defence = letting someone come inside your house and do whatever they like in it..

Seems like either you or tribjazz are mis-interpreting Sloan's interview ~

That seems like a pretty subtle difference that you're pointing out.

Sloan occasionally goes to the extreme so far that I wonder if he enjoys players sitting the bench in foul trouble. The one thing I have never understood about his system is why the team gets into foul trouble so often and doesn't try to take threats out of the game by reciprocating. It's like Sloan is being so hard nosed at times that he forgets the concept of investment and savings. Save your fouls so you don't give them free throws on ticky-tacks, and invest in drawing fouls at the risk of immediate offense. Forget running the early offense for token AK satisfying jumpers. I'd be attacking the guy who kills my team the most right from the get go. Put his *** on the bench for the second quarter. <<< I'm thinking Dirk here.

Im with Esquire on this one...Our defense has been good, if not great. It's our offense that has been sputtering like YB trying to take a leak.

Hey guy, sometimes I agree with you too. Maybe we should get together and discuss our agreements sometime.
