Worst Move? Drafting Hayward over George or Burks over Leonard?

I haven't read the entire thread, so this might already been noted.

How many people here actually believe that Ty would have given Leonard the playing time that Pops gives him or utilized him as effectively as Pop uses him? Given Ty's coaching patterns, I'm quite certain that he would have buried Leonard on the bench behind some mediocre veteran, and when he did play, would not have found a way to draw on his strengths.

George is a potentially other matter, though I still tend to believe that under Ty, George would have been under utilized and not given the minutes he needed or deserved. I mean look at Hayward, who was clearly (and it wasn't even close) a better player in nearly every facet of the game compared to Marvin and Foye (starting SF and SG) and yet Hayward's minutes per game actually fell from 2011-2012 to 2012-2-13, while the aforementioned played heavy minutes nearly the entire year. How many people here doubt that Pops would have found a better way to utilize Burks than Corbin has so far, or that Vogel at Indiana would have given Hayward more minutes and utilized him better than Corbin has?

It's hard to compare how good players are when one set plays with clearly superior coaching, better game planning/management, and system, while the other players are hampered by an inferior coach/game plan & management/system.

Kawhi averaged 11.9 points per game this season, third on the Spurs (in both the regular season and playoffs, where he's actually upped his average and efficiency), Iman averaged 6.8. Kawhi also routinely defends the opponent's best perimeter player, while playing 30+ minutes per game.
Kawhi got 22.5% of his possessions in transition this season, and averaged a very good 1.27 points per possession on those possessions. Iman got 17.8% of his possessions in transition this season, and averaged a terrible 0.94 PPP in transition (league average was 1.13 PPP in transition). How is Iman the better transition player?
Kawhi's still been better over his two year career from the 3, and is far more efficient overall. We'll see what happens next season.
Who cares? Kawhi's the better basketball player.
Which means there should be more potential for growth. Would you really rather have Iman Shumpert than Kawhi Leonard?

Yes. He Defends Guards, specifically Lead Guards better, Kahwi Leonard Defends guards well but he cant guard D. Rose like Shumpert can...

a 2 year career with a major knee injury

#8 is really why i like Shumpert in the last 2 seasons over burks, Shumpert makes plays like that with consistence

Let's face it...if you gave Tyrone Corbin a Ferrari, he'd use it to tow trailers. You give him a dump truck, he'd take it to the race tracks. Same applies to his use of players on the Jazz.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard would be scrubs at this point in their careers if they played for Corbin, don't kid yourselves, you all know that...

burks has not gotten the chance to consitently get of the benc because corbin thinks he is not in the nba long enough

You like him because of his meaningless plays in garbage time?

yes. exactly.

or because turnovers that lead to fastbreaks, that lead to dunks...

also its probable next year this is how they will rank

1 Shumpert
2 Burks
3 Kahwi(seems to be losing confidence in his offense)

thats his highlights the 1st game back from knee surgery... hes a 2 way player, i think we should trade for him tbh, hes a monster(defends pg's - up to Tayshaun Prince sized players)...

im quite sure that if GVC was a die-hard nix fan Shumpert would be his favorite player on the squad, he makes game-changing plays

Burks has been unleashed.... still waiting to forgot about passing up Leonard.

I'm still waiting for him to be unleashed.

Quin has Burks sitting on the three point line and passing the ball around the perimeter.
As such, Burks is shooting much better from 3 than leonard (and shooting a career high) and averaging more assists.

I expect that if Quin wants Burks attacking more then Burks scoring and overall field goal percentage will increase.
We will have to see what happens as the season progresses I guess.

As for now, I would say Burks is more leashed than he was last year
