Game Thread - Jazz @ San Antonio

Man reading through this game thread made me depressed. There's some really stupid people on this website. Like really complaining about Exum when he does make a mistake, but is being aggressive. He made some great plays tonight and still has loads of potential. The Jazz still played pretty good defense tonight and were just outplayed.

What disappointed me in the end was him missing the fast break layup. He's scared ****less going to the rim.

-Kanter sucked yes, but the rest of the team except for Rudy was either off or just horrible.

-Starting bigs: Gobert, Favors, done. Starting wing: Haygod, done. Everything else, who the hell knows.

-Really, we just need shooting, perimeter defense, and to trust our teammates with the pass.

-We already have the fifth best ISO player in the league in Hayward via points per drive, so give us shooters and see if we can play like Atlanta.

I cringe every time I see the Almighty related with hay...

There is something to Exum, perhaps his defense that usually reflects favorably in his +/- for sure. I'm trying to be patient with him, but it seems like he's starting to shoot one to two airballs per game now. He doesn't drive (he seems to be trying some new stuff in the paint now, which is good). He plays good D, but doesn't get a lot of steals with his length. I thought a lot of this was because of his conservative nature, but I saw him anticipate a pick tonight in which he looked like the other player was made of knives. I'm convinced he's afraid of contact, now. So, until he starts showing some fire and toughness, he'll just be another player on the bench that comes in and is just there at best and is horrific at worst. I can't remember the last time he has even shown "flashes" of what he could be. At least we had that to hang our hat on.

Assist to Kanter maybe?

No! Just go strong to the rim and finish it. His defender just sagged off and gave up on the play and he missed the layup because he was scared of yet another non-existing contest...

I think it's mainly Quin playing him along with Hayward which helps a lot(Hayward's +/- is the best out of all starters) and putting him into situations where he wouldn't be overwhelmed and taking him out the moment he feels things are going south...

What separates Dante Exum from someone like Raul Neto? I am not saying this because I think Raul Neto is good or anything, I think he a 2nd round talent that got drafted 2nd round. Dante Exum seems like a slightly shorter version of Alec Burks that is even more raw and Alec Burks is a *decent* rotational player.

Their games are like polar opposites. I don't think you could've made a worse comparison if you tried.
