Potential Trade Targets

It seems like there would at least be some buzz around one of the rumor mongers saying "i checked with Utah and they aren't really interested". This group isn't exactly tight lipped. I trust Hardy here and Murray might be a handful to deal with. Cuz like... if you are interested in Jrue why wouldn't you be interested in Murray (I know that one guy is theoretical but still).

If the price is as low as it seems... it is really hard not to swoop in here... and maybe that is the plan.

Not down payment theory I promise... but trades are hard. And some front offices struggle to work together. The fact that we have done a deal with the Hawks means we've figured it out before... so I would think the inroads there are wide open. Yet - we've heard nothing. Leads me to believe we are likely just not that interested for some reason.

Otherwise I think a JC to NY, Grimes and Fournier to Atlanta with a pick from us, and Murray to Utah seems like super doable given what the Lakers are offering.
That's what I was thinking. Because the Hawks are probably not interested in the players we could offer them, Clarkson to NY, Grimes and Fournier with a pick (or two or a pick swap) to Atlanta, and Dejounte to Utah might be doable. Atlanta might me ok with Grimes.

Sure, if there is a jumbo sized 2-way guard who can play on/off the ball out there I'm sure Utah would love to have that player...
Right but its more like if Collin wasn't a building block and Ochai projected to be a solid starter. It wouldn't have to be Paul George or something that amazing...

If Collin was still struggling I'd advocate stronger for someone like Tyus. As of right now its not a good fit with several of our building blocks or future pieces. There are likely other rentals that would be cheaper if we felt a strong need.

Supposedly the only untouchable in Washington is Bilal. Have heard zero buzz on Deni but based on the prices they are holding for Kuz I am not sure anyone can afford Deni.

Would anyone trade Sexton for DLo if the Lakers were offering the unprotected pick, a pick swap, and then dropping the protections on the ‘27 pick?
Only if we are trading Lauri and have a haul lined up. Cash in on Sexton and you may as well go full process. The swap needs to be one in 29 when we can swap with like 3-4 other picks we own.

I don't think they'd do that anyway... but this is the issue with "selling high". I think Collin's value will only increase as the season goes on (health permitting). So if DA and company don't believe then trade him around the draft once he's had a bigger sample of his increased play.

It sounds like DLo definitely gone. What if the deal was KO/THT to Atlanta, DLo to Utah, Murray to LA. We get all the pick protections removed and a second rounder. Atlanta gets the other stuff (picks swaps JHS).

Say we have a separate deal lined up for Clarkson in this instance. Are we in/out?

I think I’m out. I just have no real interest in DLo even if we’re getting paid to take him. Does he start next to Sexton?

DLO is a lot better player than people give him credit for. He's certainly not perfect, but he shouldn't be given away for free. I think he's a better player, more valuable than JC.

Probably put him in JC's role off the bench and tell him if he plays really good we will have a market for him to get somewhere he prefers lol.

Sounds like we might be able to get paid to take him if we want him.

Maybe on the court... he's an asshat as a teammate potentially. The Rudy **** talking stuff in Minny shows a lack of maturity still.

But yeah... a contender wouldn't love him as a starter imo... but as a bench player he'd be damn good if he buys in.

He's a floor raiser. Put him on a team without a lot of expectations and people think he's great. Put him on a team that has a lot of hype and you see the flaws. I think he'd be good in Utah's system.

No way you can bench DLo. That's the issue.

DLo has proven to be a solid floor raiser. Rehab the value and flip.
Bench him. His value is best rehabbed as a super sixth man and he won’t disrupt Sexton as much in that spot. If he wants to play on a good team he is best as a sixth man.
