Rev up the tank!

I don’t think so at all. I think the Jazz will stay fighting for a play-in spot and convey a middle of the draft pick in a weak draft to OKC. The fact we picked up two picks at the end of this draft definitely signals to me they intend to convey the pick.
100% this^
We’re too far to the good at this point and there’s just no way that we’re going to risk rebuke from the fans and the league with a conspicuous shut down scheme. Anyway both Danny and Will know that establishing a winning culture is everything. That said, I see a team that would have made the playoffs had they stood pat but instead convey our first and miss the playoffs as we are currently constructed. So short of a score on the buyout waiver market or a rejuvenated Porter or a reinvented Knox, or an unexpected breakout by Hendrix and Sensabaugh, nobody is going to fill the vacuum created in the loss of Olynyk, Fontechio and Agbaji. Not this season.

Getting rid of contributing players to clear minutes for rookies definitely does not signal to anyone that they intend to convey the pick.

I think people are way too quick to assume the plan is to clear the way for the rookies. I do imagine/hope Hendricks will crack the rotation, but maybe for 5-8min a game. This move clears up minutes for other rotation players. The Jazz are currrently the only team seeded 1-10 in either conference to only have one player averaging over 30min (though admittedly Clarkson is at 29.9). Most playoff contending teams have 3-5 guys. I think we’ll see more minutes from current rotational guys and a few minutes for one or both of the other rookies to see what they can do.

Go big game hunting :)
There's less and less big game available in the wild. The league has changed in that regard. Hell, just look at this trade deadline.

Very unwise to assume that we can go shopping for stars when we feel like it (and stars will also have to want to play for the Jazz).

And do what next year? Be Mediocre again for an 11th pick and/or sneak into the playin at best? The Jazz clearly don't have the balls to tank or shut down.
Did you know that a team can add players to their roster in the off season?

I hope you're right.
I have been begging for this to happen all season.
Like you said, the jazz are the ONLY team doing this. They should stop doing this. And not that they have less options hopefully hardy stops that nonsense

So what do you think the reason is that DA has acquired 15 picks in the next 5 years?

He gets hot and cold. He has been really cold lately but we all know he is going to end up getting hot in the near future.

That's the big question. Maybe he's like a slightly demented old man who picks up some pretty pebbles every time he's walking along the seashore. Then after he dies, his family finds his garage filled with millions of pebbles.

1) The Jazz didn't start winning more.
2) Lauri scoring 40 the next night, at least to me, doesn't seem to be the point of the final tank.
3) Before the trades: 5/10 wins, after the trades 4/10 wins

So. No.
We were below .500 when the trade happened. We played .500 until we started tanking. That is a higher winning percentage, so yes factually we won more. We started resting players at the point like Clarkson. A player scoring a bunch has nothing to do with tanking. Players don't tank.

I didn't ask for unlikely maybes.

I asked you why you actually think he has acquired all these picks.

That question is still waiting for an actual answer

I mean, sometimes it's cool just to say you mis-remembered. It doesn't hurt or anything. The Prez prolly thinks it's 1998.

And no, the Jazz did not "start winning" after the deadline last year. That is a fact.

Lauri scoring 40 means he was on the court. If Lauri is on the court, playing 33 mins, then sure as hell the team isn't full-on tanking.

This team went 19-10 (.655) since Dec 14. The current roster will be lucky to go 10-19 to end the season. Not because the substractions were such big contributors or the replacements so bad, but mainly because I doubt we see much more of the "good" Sexton or the "at least not as horrible" JC and so on. Because: why bother?

I simply stated a fact and proved that correct.

We won more, that's the key word after the trade deadline. The numbers confirm that, our win percentage was up over the season and especially the same amount of games before the deadline.

We had to really force our selves to tank. We were tanking after the deadline. We had to shut guys down to tank even harder to start losing more. Yes it's tanking at that point. Lauri it's still going to play when we're tanking if he's healthy. We did start having him take games off.
