Too true
Can anyone cite an example of a studious big man developing a meaningful bit of snarl in their game play?
I can't think of anyone.
I'd settle for Mason Plumlee level of snarl from WK, but more would add a lot of $ to his next contract.
Power forward A.C. Green was completely diff off the court than he was on. On the court he was a nasty player. Off the court he was a devout Christian: didn't drink, smoke or get ever laid until marriage. When they won the Finals he wouldn't even spray champagne lol

two seasons in a row of half-assing a tank job. so dumb to wait until february to tank and they do it two seasons in a row.

key is the only saving grace.
I mean if Hendrix were playing then I would hate it a lot less. So lame that he starts getting minutes and showing lots of flashes of good play and then promptly hurts a toe?
BS

Depends if you mean being concerned about lack of progress/development or his confidence being shot?

Former already worries me, latter worries me if he doesnt seem to rebound by the start of next season.
All of it. Dude has gone full 3rd year Hayward with his frustration and body language. (Maybe it was 4th year…)

Has looked so much more clunky on offense this year and last night guys were completely unbothered by him. Was struggling to out him physical Kornet.

This summer is critical for him but I’m officially worried.

Two seasons in a row of me promoting a tank job and being lambasted by you guys for it only to see the jazz finally commit to it with 30 or fewer games left then getting support from all you idiots.

Maybe the jazz wise up and tank from the start. We could have 3 rookies and 3 sophomores. Play the damn rookies all freaking year please!!!
um, check your "you guys" i've been begging for full on tanks since mitchell and rudy were traded. but hell, even just trying to win, putting all your eggs in that basket, would be better than trying to win for 2/3 of the season, then gutting the team and tanking the last third of the season when it's too late to get a high pick. crazy how bad the jazz bungled last season only to turn around and do the exact same thing again. laughable.

Ehhh... this year the cost isn't bad and I understood kind of the approach. Last year costing yourself a small shot at Wemby is really rough.

What is crazy is that if the summer doesn't go great then a 2 year tank and deconstruction should be on the table... but I am not sure it will be because the last couple years of meh will influence decisions.

I definitely share your concern and agree that its not pretty right now. Hopefully the confidence side just needs an offseason soft boot instead of a factory reset. The Team USA stint probably worked backwards on his confidence.

it's not AS bad simply due to a weaker draft at the top, but a top 5 pick is still better than the 9th pick. so yeah, while it's not AS bad it still makes no sense. either try to win or don't.

Yeah after last year I felt pretty set at center. At this point I'd look around at some options with our late picks (I think that is a pretty fruitful area of the draft for bigs) and might even consider some FA options if there was a really good trade available for Walker.

I think the Collins sidequest has also hurt Walker. I'd say I'm at a 6 right now out of 10 on the worried scale.

I agree. I do think there was some benefit to this season and it would be hard to tank with Lauri, Collin, etc. playing most of the year. If we do decide to tank we will have to offload some talent and those that complained we didn't do it last couple years might get even more frustrated.

I do think if you want to get into the top of this draft there will be opportunities to trade up.

Why did Team USA hurt his confidence exactly? Who thought the guy with one year experience was going to be a main rotation guy for the national team? It should have been pretty clear to everyone he was just there to provide a body for practices and to get him in the national system if he ever amounts to anything down the line. TEam USA should have been a massive confidence boost no matter what. You are among (some of) the top young players for an extended period of time and training with them.

Like if this is the level of mental fragility with Kessler that's a huge red flag.

I wouldn't prioritize looking for centers, but I'm definitively a lot less certain that Walker is the guy than I was before. I'm only at like a 3 on the worried scale, but that's because I had predicted a Sophomore slump, so some of this is just what I was expecting.

He's had enough nagging injuries where you can be optimistic about it, but the dude is inarguably a soft player mentally and physically.
