2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I'm still in on AJ Johnson. Comparable skinny guys have included Jalen Green, Zach Lavine, Justin Holiday and Tyrese Haliburton. The lack of physicality will affect his defense in all likelihood though.

Hunter Sallis is some I've been pondering as a top 20 guy. Has more talented Clarkson upside if he reaches the potential people thought he use to have.
I wouldn’t hate it at 29/31. Hrs still very raw but the progress he made in just one season from zags year to wake forest is super intriguing. If he could bulk up he could have some promise, super athlete. Curious what his numbers would be. Maybe see a little jaylon brown there. He is nothing like Clarkson, he can play defense for one and doesn’t just dribble around into the abyss trying to force, not quite the shot creator for himself though that JC is. Good player

Nearly exact same measurements as Clarkson and similar play styles coming out of school. Most of these late round guys adapt their games in the nba to something different.

Sallis is a very good defender. They do have a similar offensive approach however JC more polished with shooting mechanics midrange. Sallis is a better athlete than JC and arguably better from distance. He also is a year behind from where JC was entering the draft. They are the same height and both played PG/off SG in college. If Sallis were to improve on the same trajectory from 22-24 seasons he would be a steal…but maybe he has peaked. Who knows. Lazy comp. I’ve watched more of hunter Sallis then you I can promise you that.

I’m not a JC fan at all though so maybe my dislike is blinding me. I’m down with your devin carter optimism.

Shocker, they aren't the exact same player. It's not a lazy comp and you probably didn't follow Clarkson at Mizzou.

Seeing that Kyshawn George measured as one of the worst athletes at the combine.

There's just not enough positives for him to be a draftable player for me.

Also, I'd much rather take Trentyn Flowers than AJ Johnson.

Prospect about the same size at draftee Gordon Hayward with a 40+ vert

I mean it just happened. He probably didn't fully recover and wanted back for the post season run. Wouldn't concern me. Not like he was a year removed and reinjured.
Yeah, I've read people comment that he didn't look as quick and explosive after his return. Very likely he rushed coming back...
