Following Potential 2025 Draftees

With the tiny bit of hindsight we have at this point I would still have taken Tre but I'm happy with Ace since he was my second choice for the jazz.
I think Tre is definitely a better shooter and possibly a better scorer overall, but the difference between their defense from baseline to best-case scenario is tilted WAY in favor of Ace which is why I still ultimately kept him 3 on my board.

I would have been happy with either. Kind of crazy that we had to choose. I think you have to go with the length and defensive upside of Ace, especially with the idea of what him and Hendricks together could unlock.

Hendricks just has to pan out.

Who could have seen it coming that Kon doesn't have NBA athleticism? It's a mystery.

I mean I read on this very board that he was a hidden gem who was possibly being held back by the high-usage presence of Cooper Flagg. Yeah.
What’s the Google Chrome extension that will turn all of Tremendous Upside’s post text into: “I’m a little bitch. I’m a little bitch”?

This. We’ll see how it plays out, but Jazz FO told TJ they had major, major concerns over Tre’s defense. Something I’m watching for to see how the scouts and FO are doing.

In terms of "best-case" scenario, Ace is probably #2 in this class. I would guess Harper has a higher floor, but I don't see him having a higher ceiling. I'd prob peg the top 5 in terms of "upside" as follows:

1. Flagg
2. Ace
3. VJ
4. Harper
5. Tre

Maluach is probably up there as well, just not sure where.

EDIT: Hansen Yang was a massive oversight here. Way higher ceiling than Maluach / Tre.

That's an interesting comment to me.

My bias is that most / all rookies will be a disaster defensively. The Sochans / Carter Bryants of the world are a rarity.

Tre is a good athlete, long, and seems to have a great attitude. Regardless of how bad he is now that sounds like a recipe for a capable defender down the road.

If TJ is accurate I'd be curious to know what the FO saw that gave them pause on this.

What am I cherry-picking? Wizards have a stacked SL like the Jazz were not every prospect gets the table set for them to do whatever they want like some prospects do when they are the only prospect. He had a lackluster game cuz they got a lot of mouths to feed on the SL team. We saw the same thing with Bailey in Utah.
What are you cherry picking? Dawg, your board name should be "Cherry Picker".

You didnt once say "damn, Will had a rough game". But you will bring it up for Kas. But not when Kas has a good game......but when Will has a good game you will.

You conveniently forget the dudes you liked that stink but make sure any time a dude you made a good comment about once does well, you are the first MF'r to make sure its known that you liked them. Next game stinks? Nah, avoid that.

You are hard to take serious even though you have a really good read for talent because you are cripplingly insecure and unable to be admit when you are wrong or you missed. Again, you are good enough man. People like you, I swear.
