I think a vet point guard unlocks Lauri and for that reason gets us 15 wins above a non-tank effort.
My hope is that we DONT get a vet point almost at all costs. Let them do their darndest to win without a vet leader getting a better than expected result like Mike Conley delivered last time.
Huh. Not sure Givony is even saying here... The Jazz are working a trade? Or Ace is trying to submarine the pick? Or what?
If we can milk the Wizards for Tre + the unprotected rights to swap 2026 picks and I would be tempted to let them have him. Otherwise, I am jazzed to have Ace on the...
That's that not the point. They grabbed 4 pass first guys who need the ball in their hands to be effective. The question is which of those guys will have the ball? And who is going to actually shoot the ball efficiently when they all pass it around to each other?
I think what he is saying is Trey Burke was the leader for a college team that went to the championship game just like WCJ. They are different players but they both led their collegiate teams to the championship game and both rose up the draft boards as a result of it.
Speaking of which, the Nets draft was HILARIOUS! It reminded me of the Minny draft when they picked Ricky Rubio (5th), Jonny Flynn (6th), skipping over some kid named Steph AND then going for Ty Lawson with the 18th. 3 point guards in a row.
Egor Demin (Can't shoot, can pass)
Nolan Traore...
I am always fascinated by the players drafted around a specific talent and how it all translates. Trey Lyles was picked right after Myles Turner. Klay Thompson being picked right before Alec Burks, the Morris twins, and Kawhi.
The WCJ pick will be easy to compare with Jakacunius and Jace...
Best, most highly touted prospect we have had in the last 20 years? Yes. By far.
Best player we have drafted in the last 20 years? Who knows. He has a LONG way to go to prove himself. Spida and Rudy take the cake followed by Deron. But we have had a lot of misses over the years. But I am...
Summer league is going to be fun!
Also, we dont need Ace to be a polished player in 2025. We want him to start to be good by 2026 when we add 1 more prospect. We have time to develop him.
The NOP gave up an unprotected 1st in 2026 to move up 10 spots to select Queen. He had better be the ROY or it wasn't worth it because they were the 2nd worst record in the West last year and Jordan Poole / Fears arent going to make them better than CJ McCollum.
I would trade Lauri to the...
I love the commentary about Baileys work ethic and being a gym rat. Hardy shouldn't have to push hard. Just push the right buttons to channel that energy towards efficiency.
I am so stoked on the Ace Bailey selection. Is he perfect? Not even close. But he oozes with potential in a way none of our draft picks have ever had in 30 years of watching the draft.
Spida is the next closest guy that I was jazzed about.
For us old farts... the Jazz took Deron Williams over Chris Paul because Deron came in a suit and Chris Paul didnt really want to be here. Bad basketball decision. And at the end of the day, Deron diva'd his way out of Utah anyways.
You pick the BPA everything and that is just what we did.
Who is the toughest player in the 3 - 9 group? Maluach? VJ? Tre? Bailey? Fears is tough like an ant? Kon? I dont know that I believe any of those guys are the definition of TOUGH.
