It would be nice to not worry about protections.. but that may be a problematic trade to execute with anyone but OKC.
Just by the logic of someone trading us a guy who makes us better but then not getting anything in return if we actually become better.
Thanks.
I'm also seeing he ranked 5th in all of college basketball for total turnovers. Any chance you can detail where those came from a bit? Was it heavy on passing, getting stripped, travelling, offensive fouling or even across the board?
Do I have to believe Kas can become an on ball creator in the NBA to see his value?
Im looking at him vs Kon and I struggle to see where he clearly beats Kon... unless I predict that one can operate as an offensive engine and the other cant.
But I dont think either one can.
Will Hardy is AA guy even if he didnt hire him. They used to share office walls in Boston and Austin spoke very highly of him.
The way Ryan and DA also talk about him indicates that he is the savior more than any player currently on the roster.
I would bet his leash is very long.
Pretty much exactly what I thought. It was premeditated and his philosophy is to have the team play at its maximum capacity... but it remains to be seen what that maximum capacity is.
There is a chance Ryan actually hired him because he wants to win. I dont know how last year impacted the business side and **** like that can really trump the value of a single draft pick in the eyes of the owner.
You guys think a first time POBO walks in front of media and makes a mic drop comment and then proceeds to do the opposite?
Yeah media will surely fotget that and definitely wont point that **** out or anything..
People need to exit denial and embrace the change. Next season wont be the same...
Would you also agree than Kon may be more of a AA type guy than Tre?
Not saying they would put them in the same tier, but just on a type analysis perspective. Assuming Celtics recent picks are reflective of "his type".
So this entire thread just did a full 180.
What I've been able to gather from Celtic-verse is that Austin was in fact heavily involved in the scouting and talent evaluation side in their FO which sort of makes sense as to why we would also hire him at this exact moment. So I think its fair to...
The tanking question by the ESPN700 reporter was presented so poorly... but it was quite obviously a question that Austin was expecting and had prepared to answer.
My biggest positive takeaway from his presser is that DA being a bargain hunter and a part time POBO days are over, and I feel more...
This. JZ is a lawyer and Ainge's are basketball lifers.
DA never wanted ot signed up for a full time job. He wants to travel and watch college games with a heavy dose of golf mixed in (he loves to watch golf as well).
Austin an actual full time POBO who looks over everything with basketball...
What is even more important is that arguably the 3 best players (sry JDub) in this series were acquired by these small market teams via trades.
"Small market teams can only acquire top talent by drafting" -argument is looking rather shaky.
He makes sense for a lot of teams in the top 5, including us. I wouldn't mind getting him. In fact he is probably my top choice if Flagg, Harper, Tre and VJ are gone. I'm not a fan of Ace and I dont think our current team/culture will be the best way for him to start his career.
